I wandered lonely, as a cloud, through the western world, then I realised they are all inhuman b*****ds. What hope is there when you are so out of step. Maybe I was Irish all along.

What are you on about? You are talking about two tribes who know no compromise and have no intention of negotiating for peace. They are happy to mutilate and murder women and children to achieve their goals. The Loony left are calling for a ceasefire for no reason other than to virtue signal. It is extremely odd that all these Left wing activist types choose to side with a people who have nothing in common with their ideas. The only thing they have in common is their hated of the West. Where was their outrage about murdered Jewish women and children?

Where peacekeeping succeeds both sides are looking for a face saving solution to get themselves out of the mess.

Where was their outrage about murdered Jewish women and children? As even people like you must realise by now it is by far not just “the left” who are calling for a ceasefire. That’s not because they support or even side with terrorists or don’t condemn what they did. They were as appalled everyone about what Hamas did on Oct 7th. The reasoning to try to arrange a ceasefire is to stop the killing, enable humanitarian relief to enter safely and the sick and wounded to be evacuated. The longer the ceasefire the greater the prospect of mediation to extend it and for positions to be held whilst attempts are made to extend it so negotiations can be brokered. I’m sure there is a lot of diplomacy happening out of sight, primarily coordinated by the USA where there appears to be a definite change in the mood. Only by putting pressure on Netanyahu can anything start to happen.

Publicly yes, as do most western leaders, but especially so in the USA where the Israel lobby is so strong. Privately I wouldn’t be so sure. There is a groundswell of public disquiet about the way the Israelis are behaving which cannot be ignored.
