I didn’t suggest. I asked if you were predicting it!

Reform will hit their natural ceiling. The Tories will rebuild and regain their strength. What will be interesting to watch will be the behaviour of the Tory right. Will they walk into the arms of Farage, which is their natural home, or stay put knowing their own futures will be less secure there than staying Tory. We will know soon enough.

I would welcome PR but we aren’t going to get it.

I disagree. The Tories have travelled to the left.

What many Tories want is real conservatism. The party has been hijacked by centrist, globalist sell outs.

Really? The Tories were always a broad church mish mash but the current lot are definitely of the nationalist right having purged centrists like Rory Stewart before winning the 2019 election.

The centre may have regained ground but they are essentially still the ERG right.

The real extremists are on the Left with their climate, gender, transport, anti-semitic and EU agendas.

And yet we got Rishi Sunak as Prime Minister.

Untrue. If anything it’s the centrists who have been marginalised.

That there is, and always have been, a noisy right wing caucus is true but hopefully these will either drift off to Farage or be forced to go there. Then the Tories can reclaim the middle ground upon which all governing parties need to stand.

What some Tories want is right wing politics. Let them go find them!

Polls now showing Reform level or a spot in front of the tories.

They are also slowly picking up votes from labour.

No where near enough but the rise has been steady.

Where I live they are just 5% behind the tories and that was 5 days ago.

Our MP has been there forever and usually polls 65% of the vote. He was at 32% last time I looked.

I have voted tory since I was in my early 20's after voting for labour at 18 and they shafted me bigtime. But this shower of thieving, lying, self materialistic scum can sit on it and spin.

Its going to be hard for them to come back from this. I have no confidence in any of them to do the right thing.

Irrelevant about reform or Tory but at 20 something you learned the labour lesson. Many in five years time will feel the same

So that means it's true.

Maybe the pathetic left of the party should join the Liberals.

Just a thought.

Man alive, that made me choke on my coffee.

I think we can safely say that Rory Stewart is on the left hand side of the Tories....it's a stretch to call him a 'centralist'.

He would be at home in the Labour party and indeed, currently does a podcast with that criminal Alastair Campbell.

I am glad you agree. Some Tories do want right wing politics. Most though, me included, want centre right politics. There is no left of the party. There’s only the bulk of it which occupies the centre, which is only to the left of those on the right.

The idea that Rory Stewart isn’t a centrist, but on the left, proves that point conclusively. He is bang in the centre, so not to the right. Nor to the left.

You consider yourself a centrist.

Say no more.

Oh I am! Always have been.

Fiscally very much a hard line conservative who does not believe in running a deficit and postponing problems by borrowing.

Socially more liberal in that I believe the most vulnerable need protection and help whilst all those who can work, should work. That includes almost everybody. Everybody should do something, paid, voluntary, full or part time, to contribute to the health of the nation.
