The only "fouls" that I see on the horizon are those being threatened by Trump, in his suggestions that postal votes be discounted and/or electors directly appointed in Republican-controlled states. If, in the very unlikely event in my opinion, Trump wins fairly, it will be accepted. With regret and puzzlement in exactly the same way Brexit has been. Battles are lost but wars are never over until the enemy is defeated. Populism is the enemy and the war will continue.

He's still crying foul over Brexit. It must be hard to live in a world where everyone else just doesn't understand how right you always are. No I am not. I have long left that behind, even if others like you keep bringing it up. That battle was lost. The lessons must be learned ready for the next one. Am I right? Only history will judge that.

It could only possibly be smooth if Trump wins comfortably and that looks very unlikely. A close result would spark legal challenges and probably reactions from the fringes on both sides. The reaction to a big Biden win is difficult to forecast but hopefully the GOP would restrain Trump as he would then be of no further use to them.

When trump wins so far I'll get 193.58 from Betfair but I'm adding bits and bobs to the be, aiming to get 400/500 profit depending on spare capital!! 4 more years!!! Actually going aim for 400 🎺🎺🎺🐇🐇🐇 Attachment: IMG_20201023_232800.jpg (885.12Kb)

And here we have it, “ in the unlikely event Trump wins fairly” you no doubt will ever except anything other than a Biden win was fair. Still luckily your hope for the next POTUS is squeaky clean! Edited by Spiderman (24 Oct 2020 8.19am) You either misunderstand or misrepresent my point. So let me clarify. Just so long as all the normal conventions are respected I think it is unlikely that Trump will win. I trust that we ALL respect those conventions. Following the law, ensuring every vote is counted, no voter intimidation occurs, no obstruction occurs, no attempts are made to alter the rules after the event. Should any of those conventions be broken it will become a mess of legal challenges and quite possibly violence. If Trump wins without any of those things being attempted then I am quite sure it would be respected by both sides. I just don't think, on the current evidence, that is likely.

If I were American I would vote tactically. One for Trump, one for Biden - both by post.
