Well, to start with it looks like the UK paying €55 billion to the EU, so more like a national crisis. I thought Johnson said the EU wouldn't get a penny? U-turn after u-turn. You brexiteers must be loving handing over all that cash.

We pay that every year in interest payments to the (privately owned) BoE so it's hardly a bloody ''national crisis''.
You're 'exaggeration gene' is way too busy for it's own good.

privately owned?

Strange that government finances consolidate out such loans and interest payments. That would suggest it's publicly owned.

The main thing to note is that utter incompetence from this government has meant it's taken 18 months for them to agree to pay what we owe, something that should never have been an issue in the first place. They are experts in chaos and uncertainty and not much else.

Sadly the Irish border question was always going to be far more difficult and they've still not come up with any actual plans for this yet.

Davis is too busy being a massive hypocrite and drain on the state (insisting on private air travel) to have any idea what to do in the national interest. Either that or he's actively not acting in our best interest. His record of shouting about abuses of ministerial power and contempt of parliament when on the back benches looks pretty opportunistic and insincere now he's the biggest culprit next to May when on the front bench. He's an embarrassment to the government and our nation and should be replaced.

I am beyond angry at the moment.

50 Billion Euros? To this corrupt undemocratic group...just to leave it? They only deserve my middle finger.

This is what happens when you have a wimp and a remainer as PM.

All the fifth columnists will love this.

The country democratically elected May to take us through Brexit. You reap what you sow.

Well, this is in no way the final figure, that will be much, much more but that of course won't be revealed for years to come when it's too late to do anything about it. Remember the €20 billion outrage? Now €55 billion and no doubt much more to be handed over and that's without the €billions each year lost from business already moving to the Eurozone.

This is nothing to do with 'remainers', it's all to do with the lies that Farage and Johnson fed people like yourself and you gulped it all down. They won't care, their multi-millionaires already, non of this will affect them.In fact they will make even more from the misery caused to millions of UK citizens when they no doubt write their books and give 'independent' after dinner talks etc.

The cold light of day has finally begun to arrive.

Not to mention the Russian subversion of our democracy and the effort of ministers to subvert parliament at every turn. We're giving away far more power than we're taking back.

It was always going to be 50. Should've agreed it earlier. The issue I have is that this and a couple of other matters are agreed and filed away from reach before we move onto what we're really waiting for and what the EU was originally set up for. Trade. Well publicly anyway. Then there's open immigration. Something it wasn't set up for, publicly.

Hopefully because we've dragged it out it'll help with the negotiations that'll really attract interest.

It was either that or an inadequate Marxist.

A Trump or Clinton choice.
