Leaving aside your own party preference, who do you think performed best overall in tonight’s debate?"

Boris Johnson - 51%
Jeremy Corbyn - 49%

The presenter was quite poor.

I found both of them appealed to their base and that nothing said within made much difference.

The audience questions were really crap as well.....very little actual serious policy talk.

The Lib Dems are moaning they were left out of last night's debate, mind you I saw an article yesterday which claims that the more the public get to know Jo Swinson the more they dislike her.

She is running a presidential style campaign so that's not going to help if the public don't like the messenger.

I am a Tory and always have been but whilst I think that Boris makes a better orator than Corbyn I do have concerns about his substance as it doesn't seem to extend beyond his catchphrase "get Brexit done"

I couldn't bring myself to vote for Corbyn, Swinson is a nutjob that seems clueless about the real world and the Greens can't even run Brighton Council successfully let alone a country so it looks like I will have to vote for Boris by default

I agree and it has parallels with May and ‘strong and stable’. But Boris has far more in him than May and enough to beat Corbyn with his protest persona. If Boris was fighting Corbyn when May did then it might be a different matter. Against Blair he’d be beaten before day 1 and it would be a close thing vs David Miliband or similar, if his brother and the unions didn’t stab him in the front.

We are blessed with the worst leaders. All of them for a decade, and then there was Brown and Blair. None are very strong apart from Corbyn in one election and Sturgeon promising one policy of freedom to decide their future, with the EU doing it for them instead of the U.K. No wonder people don’t vote. It’s right in front of us now we’ve got to the point of all of them being a real disappointment.

ITV innit. The BBC1 Fiona Bruce programme was better. 40 mins. Farage got a real grilling from the audience. Did well I thought. I liked the ‘Well done’’ starts to his answers when an audience member went OTT at him and mostly got it wrong.

A new take on electoral fraud

[Link]

I'm not convinced that this is actual fraud but the key question that the paper fails to ask and the council fails to clarify is how did these people get on the electoral roll if they haven't registered?

It's a one on one process, one form for one person. So how did hundreds of people who did not complete forms get enrolled? Where did the council staff get the information to make this mistake?

I think this is more cock up than conspiracy but it still should be explained.

How is that not fraud?

How do you "accidentally" register someone to vote who hasn't asked to vote?

As we can see from what happened in Peterborough the issue of electoral fraud is now a major one that could change the entire direction of the country.

Labour is doing it's level best to sweep this under the carpet.

Had dinner last night with some relatives who are the most apolitical people I know and her name was mentioned in context of coming across as a 'dreadful' woman.

Although to be fair in a conversation at work the general consensus was that if you could stick Priti Patels head on Swinson's body then you might have a half-decent looking politician. Neither rock my boat but each to their own.

Plymouth City Council did it in the last general election adding all the students to their list of voters even though the students had voted at home. There was trouble in the student area of Plymouth as all the students voted Labour due to the promise of student fees being abolished which of course we all know never happened. It was a Corbyn lie as he always does and the Tory MP got kicked out to let Luke Pollard in who has done nothing since he took office. A very mouthy bloke in fact. he is not rated down here in Plymouth. Just likes doing photo shoots as does Tudor Evans the leader of our council who is also Labour.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

The occasional mistake I can understand e.g. a typo but you are correct a mistake on this level needs to be explained.

You obviously have a greater handle on this that the rest of us. Was this not investigated by the Electoral Commission? Did the other parties not complain?
