I can't accept that there wasn't some skulduggery in that fight. There is no way that a man who had defeated Wilder twice (truthfully three times) beat Klitchko and made Dillian White and Dereck Chisora looks like chumps can suddenly be that bad against a novice boxer unless he wanted to look bad on purpose and or just didn't do any proper training for the fight. My theory, albeit a cynical one, is that the fight with Usyk was looking like a certain win for Fury in many people's eyes and therefore had less appeal as a box office draw. Fury has made more millions for himself and his promoters and Ngannou has a great introduction to boxing and will make loads of money for Saudi, his promoters and himself. Everybody wins, and this fight will be forgotten when Fury beats Usyk and AJ. Let's see how it pans out. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (30 Oct 2023 1.48pm) I view it as styles make fights and it basically comes under the same heading where the difference between a league one footballer and a Premiership one is obvious but that it isn't as large as advertised or rewarded. Fury won because he is a better boxer but he didn't have the strength and weight advantage over this guy as with Wilder. Ngannou just shows the reality that, while a difference between combat sports exists....it can be bridged by some. I think he could probably beat some of the top ten. Just like league one footballers can end up playing in the Premiership. I hear Ngannou might be fighting Chisora.

Katie Taylor. What a great fighter she is. Both girls fought to a standstill last night. Amazing dedication. She actually makes me emotional.

Last night. Wardley v Clarke for the British Heavyweight title. 12 rounds of brutality couldn't decide a winner on the judges scorecards. Amazing fight, but not for the faint-hearted.
