Costs for the consumer going up and choices going down it very much sounds like.

But wages for joe public could well rise, and i dont see why choices should go down,we will still be trading with other countries.

Well, it is a truism that the nearer you trade the cheaper the expense. If...we have a no deal Brexit then it will take years to sort out the mess trade wise with our European friends so we will have to import from further afield.

Thus, whilst costs to import will definitely go up then I also suspect the variety will also diminish because of those said costs.

Nothing to do with Brexit. It's market forces. If you can't get workers you need to make our jobs more attractive.

Non-sense. Their income (the farmers) will be going down after Brexit and significantly for a fair few it is being reported because of predicted labour shortages yet you want them to pay more to attract British workers who aren't interested even at the £10-£12 an hour many agricultural farms pay for their pickers now.

Plus, it's seasonal work so who will pay them over Xmas through to Spring?

It has everything to do with Brexit.

I think you are correct but here I am specifically focused on agricultural farmers not all inclusive with cattle and suchlike as the former depend on migrant and temporary EU workers much more than the others.

yes here we go

" The latest online poll shows that of 1,400 active farmer respondents, 54 per cent voted to leave and 44 per cent voted to remain. 28 per cent thought they would be better off as a result of Brexit and 41 per cent thought they would be worse off (21 per cent about the same). Even among those who voted to leave, there has been a decline in optimism.

Horticulture was the only sector in which more farmers voted to remain than leave. The sector is highly dependent on migrant labour from the EU."

Correct. A bit like getting a job at Marks & Spencer's or working over the holiday period at The Post Office

Think you’re find the temporary EU workforce are exploited by the Labour agencies engaged by the farmers , the farmers don’t employed them directly ,they just make payments over to the agency , end of their responsibility, no H&S, welfare facilities and biggest bonus no interference from HMRC

Raise them enough so families can afford to do them,i know farmers have used foreign labour for years, and its work very well.
But we need to pay enough so families can do them, and the supermarkets will have to pay more for their produce, ideal time with brexit.

And on a side note,I notice HSBC have now said that it won't be as bad as they first forecast.

Agreed, but it won't happen due to the impact on inflation.
Since the end of Bretton Woods in 1971, govts (or those in power) have been fighting the inflationary forces that they themselves have deliberately caused to feather the nests of the elite.
Wealth confiscation through globalisation, wage suppression and ever-increasing taxes being the tools of choice which limit the amount of income available to the masses.
In general, nan and gramps could pretty much live happily on one wage. Today they'd need two. This is mainly due to the continual, and deliberate, devaluation of our currency since '71.

Nonsense, it's just the usual torrent of misinformation, scaremongering, end of the world scenarios, constantly churned out by the Remain at all costs brigade. Left wingers becoming the 'champions' of farmers whom they despise as fox-hunting toffs most of the time, champions of businesses whom they normally see as the root of all capitalist evil - now they are worried about their profits suffering!

In Lincolnshire there's loads of tracksuit wearing, white British youngsters complaining about immigration and lack of jobs with a can of lager on the high street when plenty of eu immigrants live 4 to a room in 3 bedroom houses. There's one solution right there. No doubt the same in Gillingham or Maidstone etc.
