Look up the head of the WHO investigation in China and you will find he works as a researcher for the very same virology lab in Hunan. How am I supposed to take this seriously? It's not even slightly hidden.

As my wife said” the WHO are going a bit feral and maybe Trump was going along the right lines”. I have always said the Chinese will never accept the blame or be officially accused.

There is no way the Chinese will fully co-operate with the WHO. Whether it be by withholding information, refusing access to certain places or simply by already having covered their tracks. The investigation is a waste of time and money. Far too many assumptions being made on this. Best to await what is said and then to read the expert peer reviews of the findings before coming to any conclusions. I cannot myself see why the Chinese would deliberately release something like this. Forget the morality involved and look only at the economics. What is the benefit of throwing your markets into turmoil and recession? A consequence of poor food hygiene or cultural behaviour, perhaps. An experiment that went wrong, again possible. Our objectives ought though to be to try to help them avoid such things happening again by co-operative working and not by taking the moral high ground and shaming them. Asian people react very badly to being shamed and can take great offensive which then results in retaliation far beyond anything we think might be reasonable. I have known people get murdered simply because they slighted someone. It matters to them and we need to tread carefully.

It's a big number is the point. Sure it's not in comparison to the population of the entire planet, but if we need to use that as a measure it's proof enough that it's a bad situation. Besides, that's the current number, worldwide it will clearly get much higher unfortunately. Then again a few months ago anyone who didn't think that the pandemic had 'ended' in May was 'brainwashed' according to you and the lamentable attitude you brought. You've certainly had your self indulgent pound of flesh during this misery that's for sure. At least the endless Miss Marple style 'deserted testing centres!' contributions have dried up now. Think twice before continuing with an unnecessary 'world population' perspective as yet another way of pointlessly diminishing others losses.
What is your issue with me? I was pointing out the difference of million against billion. That's all. Some people have no idea of the difference. It's called perspective, not comparison. Not that you'd know the difference Roughly 6 million people die each year. Yet the population increases. 2.2million is a small number of total population. If it turns out that 8 million people died this last year(we don't know yet), you have a point about the virus. Regardless of next year's total deaths, that is the total per annum. Either way you look at it, it's a small number compared to the population who are locked down. I'd also wager the death toll rises due to worldwide lockdowns, but this will just get smudged in with "Due to Covid", rather than "Due to lockdown". As for "Think twice before continuing..." Who assigned you to tell me what to do? Who do you really think you are? Some sort of moral overseer? A forum policeman? It bothers me not, but, mate, talk to anyone in a pub like that and find out life fast. I admit I was wrong about the end of the pandemic, which has taken a very unusual course from other pandemics, so feel smug there. However, the rest of the guff you attribute to me could be classed as libellous. I don't think I would have suggested any of that. But you needn't worry, I don't really give a fig about what you think. Now stop stalking me.
