Unless they’ve bought season tickets elsewhere presumably the option to return to their original seats is still open. Hope they consider this. As far as I'm aware, they've just moved their STs.

Just give them free season tickets in block B if they care that much. It'll lose the club a third of a week of Benteke's salary- think they'll cope. Then when the main stand opens, look at other options then. I personally wouldn't do this as don't think the club should be hostage by fans but if they do care for whatever reason, then the above is a solution that'll probably work.

Perhaps the club should have offered season ticket holders £2000 to move or offered season tickets free for say five years in another area. Maybe some would still not move but money talks and the cost to the club would be a drop in the ocean given the relatively small numbers involved.

still can't believe they can't find 100 seats near the front next to the away fans. surely the HF would jump at that.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

My personal solution would be for the club next season to announce that all current season ticket holders cannot retain their seats. Designate blocks D,E &F as singing areas, give the HF their hundred seats and then starting with the longest serving season ticket holders down allow people to choose where they would now like to sit/stand. A brand new start that would also give the opportunity for people who currently have to stand but would prefer to sit the opportunity to do so, and also give groups of friends and families to sit together if they are currently unable to do so.

One of my jobs was to relocate Sri Lankan slum dwellers No matter that the government had full power to just take back the land, you would be amazed at the complexity involved. They were all going to better locations but there were plenty of reasons why they would fight plans tooth and nail. I wouldn’t fancy trying to keep all parties from going postal shifting longstanding season ticket holders.

The bottom line is the HF have done a lot more for the club than the club has done for the HF. I don't see how anyone can deny that. The HF buy their tickets like everyone else. They spend a lot of time, energy, and money coming up with displays and being loud during matches. The club markets the HF, which is a selling point for attracting support and positive media coverage. In return, the club holds a section of not that desirable seats in the corner. The club could have come up with a compromise, you always can, but it would have required a lot of effort, and it seems like instead SP threw up his hands and said there was no solution.

Probably get crucified but I don't know if I'm missing something but I'm not sure why some fans feel they should have priority over others, people always say no player is bigger than the club. The hf whilst a big part of the atmosphere it's only a small percentage of the fans

E.g...? The most ironic example is this: The club's plan to destroy inhabited houses to upgrade the main stand was no problem at all, but moving some ticket holders is apparently impossible. That proves the club is capable of making difficult negotiations and accommodations when it is in the club's best interests. Substitute "season ticket holders" for "tenants/residents" in this article... "Under the proposals submitted to Croydon Council, six houses in Wooderson Close would be lost, five of which are owned by the local authority. Crystal Palace has promised to work with the council to ensure all tenants affected are re-housed in equivalent properties in one of the surrounding wards. The club will pay the bill to re-house residents and associated costs, including the cost of moving. It is offering to meet affected residents individually to discuss any concerns."
