What a signing of intent this is! I'm delighted that this has come off (as long as nothing dubious happens). I thought it wasn't going to happen last week. I know who will be putting on the back of my shirt next year.

Best player we have ever signed and this thread has turned into an administration argument. The club has moved on and no point spouting bollocks about the past, lets enjoy signing World class players.
Daft thing is is that we can actually afford it even in a worst case scenario.
Orrrf! Can you imagine!? I bet they've been wanting the exact same for years down at Ajax. Indeed the Ajax boards have been awash for years wanting an away day in South Norwood or Taunton Heat...

As per usual Syd doesn't know what he's talking about. 1. Agilo were the ones who put the club into admin. 2. It was £6m for the ground. 3. As someoine else has stated, the club were hemorrhaging money until we got to the prem. Expect Ian J to pop with the fact that CPFC 2010 took out a debenture, but forgets that you need liquidity behind you to actually take out a debenture. God, you really are a tedious little pedant, aren't you? Yes, Agilo put the club into administration but had CPFC2010 wanted to acquire directly from Jordan at any point, they could have done so thereby saving both the club and Jordan from that particular humiliation. OK: Agilo technically put the club into administration and CPFC 2010 allowed it to happen because it was in their financial interests to do so. 2. Yes, the club were losing money but when you're an entrepreneur you back yourself to spot a losing business and turn it around. That's why they bought us and that's what they've done. When you have a net worth of over 200m pounds, liquidity probably isn't a problem. Less Plane, more Plain Dull.
If you are referring to the net worth of our four saviours, Parish, Long, Hosking and Browett (apologies if any spelling incorrect) I think you will find that their net worth is more like £700 mill but whilst they put money in, they also said that CPFC was a business and as such had to be run as such. Although frustrating at times, especially in the early days they have done a superb job and looked after the finances magnificently in the face sometimes of pressure to buy players that as it turned would have been a nightmare; Caulker springs to mid as one. Also keeping their nerve with AP is worth a mention. What is also important is the fact that we have fans with comparatively low and sensible expectations who are mainly grounded due to two bouts of Administration.

Crystal Palace have moved a step closer to signing midfielder Yohan Cabaye from PSG. He is undergoing his medical in London, and Sky sources understand the fee is between £10million. and £13million So excited posted in the Austin thread by mistake

Someone already suggested that the announcement may be dependent on the new shirt sponsor. I am not sure how much the sponsorship deal is but surely a photo of Cabaye wearing the sponsors name is worth a few million. CPFC 2010 will be using this in their negotiations to get the sponsor to sign up before the announcement.

A post from NORTH STAND GAY CHAT Article about Eddie Izzard saying we will win the premier league in 10 years. this is a response to that, sour grapes? 'Palace will be champions' Do you know what...I know its simply not 'business' to do so but if CPFC2010 did actually pay everyone (bar that cnut Venables) back the money it would be an amazing gesture and be a real media coup. Why? If you moved into a new house and the previous occupant hadn't paid their council tax or paid the window cleaner would you? What happened under SJ is completely different, the new club is CPFC2010 and only responsible for anything from then onwards!

1. There is no 'technichally' about it, it was Agilo. For your information SP did approach Jordan but Jordan being Jordan, refused his help. Bit of an egotist Jordan, does that ring any bells with you? 2. Cor, thanks for letting me know how the business world works, I'm eternally grateful Anyway bubble, hopefully we can get back to the minute by minute updates from the hospital/training ground/Beckenham Wimpy
