Cleary one swallow doesnt make a summer...but "Britain saw its smallest budget deficit for any September in the last 10 years, according to official figures. Last month's deficit stood at £5.902bn, down almost 11% compared with the same month last year, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said. With many economists having forecast a deficit of about £6.5bn, the news will be a boost for Chancellor Philip Hammond ahead of next month's Budget. The deficit for August was also revised down by about £1bn to £4.716bn September's figures marked the third straight month in which UK public finances were better than analysts had forecast." No I don't understand that. If anyone, irrespective of gender, says they don't want something I wouldn't assume that they did want it and use that as a justification for my actions.

[Link] Biggest economic news is the downgrading in productivity forecasts and the admission that OBR has been over optimistic on that forecast for 7 years. Our productivity is a big problem. It's also a big problem that the economy is built on consumer credit and we have a buy now default later timebomb (again) waiting to go off. Not sure what happened to Dave and Georgie's fix the roof while the sun's shining mantra.

Hopefully we can continue to keep our country's waters cleaner now they are.

You will still be able to travel freely in Europe and stay anywhere for probably 3 months. Longer if you have a job or capital, which sounds reasonable.

Eat porridge instead of coco pops. Cut down on sugary sweets and ready made meals. Cook more, eat less local fried junk. Thinking about how to shop often means a healthier shop. I saw a Leeds school open up school holiday canteen making use of out of date supermarket products which is a great idea. From what I've read over the past few months forecasts are next to fecking useless as they're almost always wrong...
