I would have thought reading either, given their well deserved reputations, was a total waste of time when more balanced coverage is known to be available. You don’t read the Mail or the Socialist Worker to actually learn anything. Have a laugh, perhaps. That view might have some validity if those were the only options available, although how the Daily Mail equates to the Socialist Worker is a mystery - whatever the right wing equivalent is I don't know - but there are any number of middle of the road opinions around for balance. If challenging your own preconceptions is too unsettling then of course the BBC is always there.

If you have fallen out of love with where you live, move. Or get out more. There’s plenty of lovely places out there. Stop moaning and do something to make your own lot better. You aren’t going to change the world. So you won’t moan about brexit again, you aren’t going to change it !

Where do you get your “facts”. Daily Mail? GBNews? The Guardian, the BBC also report these facts, so it must be true. I’m sorry if your ideology can’t take facts.
hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing. |

If challenging your own preconceptions is too unsettling then of course the BBC is always there. The Mail and the Socialist Worker are equally biased in favour of the political outlook they promulgate. There are others who take also sides but not to quite the same level, and then there is indeed the BBC who doesn’t. Except in the minds of those who do.

So what's the problem with getting a view from both ends of the spectrum as well as that from the centre?

One is a newspaper which takes an obviously more socialist stance whilst the other is our national broadcaster which is bound by its charter to be politically neutral and objective.

Only that the viewpoint of both is so distorted that nothing can be seen clearly so reading them is wasting time and effort when better sources are available. I only ever look in such places if I want to understand how the extremes are approaching something and what to expect from them. Never to actually gain a true understanding.

But often stories are given far more prominence so are make it easier to find more moderate reporting. For all it's vaunted objectivity the BBC has a habit of putting some stories way back in local news where they're not easy to find.

I’m not comparing them; I’m stating that both the left (Guardian), the right (GB News) and the centre (BBC), reported these events involving the Refugees Welcome gatherings. My disagreement with you was over your view that nobody agrees with illegal immigration; the protests show that you are incorrect.
