What a really good fight. Not a great fight, by any stretch. But a Good fight that I'd almost forgotten that boxing could produce.

It's really just a question of being dumb enough to get caught these days. Why don't the big boys just agree to fight each other at least two times each and then they can all retire. Loads of money, everybody happy.

Call me cynical. I'm inclined to think ticket and TV sales were pl55 poor and they had to think of a way of pulling the plug without losing too much face. That is how 5hlt the heavyweight division is for getting the big fights on.

Managed to watch the Eubank Jr v Smith half asleep last night. I expected that in the first fight, but Eubank was clearly not 100% that night.

Smith was very gracious in defeat. However, having watched the highlights, it is obvious to me that Smith had badly inhibited mobility, which massively impacted his performance. Credit to Smith for not making an issue of it for his defeat.

Credit to Smith for not making an issue of it for his defeat. I think he kind of did in the after fight conference. However, I do think it's actually true. He spoke about cutting three stone as well affecting his energy levels....but I have less sympathy for that. It's his job to make weight and if he's ever more than a stone and a half overweight from his fighting weight then that's totally his fault.....they are called professionals for a reason.
