Great for context. We have undoubtedly been pretty poor of late, but as you say we have had a lot of hard games. Its easy to forget that we drew against a Utd team that had won 9 in a row, Newcastle, Brentford and Brighton who were all flying. And a Liverpool team that have jsut shown how deadly they can be against Utd. The only result that was really bad of late was Villa. But it was a game of v fine margins, and they didnt deserve to win either. You have contradicted yourself. You can't support a statement that we have been pretty poor and then say we have matched very good teams above us.

If you don't like the thread don't post on it. But constantly posting this troll crap on a DISCUSSION board is what is b***s. You have a nice day now.

You can't but that isn't what was said - we got important draws, there's no statement that we played well or matched those teams. We got a draw against Brighton but I wouldn't for a second claim we matched them - we were awful and should have been thumped. That VAR decision and a ridiculous Sanchez error saved us. United played us between two really important games (City and Arsenal), didn't look in the slightest bit interested, and still somehow missed from a yard out with the last kick to win the game. Liverpool were very poor against us - Trent gave the ball away 20 times in the first half and it wasn't because we're good at pressing because every other game suggests we're not. They still hit the woodwork twice. They're pretty good results but they're laced with fortune.

Yes, the points are welcome and have just about kept us ahead of the pack, but let's not fool ourselves, carry on like this riding our luck and not creating anything of note ourselves and sooner or later we will be absolutely thumped. Maybe then some will wake up and smell the coffee, by which time it may well be a desperate scramble to avoid relegation. Depending on how we fare in the next 3 games and if those below close the gap and even overtake us then we will see what this team is made of.

I suspect we are playing poorly, but also setting up to stifle the oppo, rather than being set up to go and win the game. When we've had luck on our side, we've drawn. Villa the luck was the other way and we lost. Not great football but super fine margins. Keep the faith, and lets batter City tomorrow!

All our hardwork/good luck could have been undone with one loss of concentration. If you don't score the margins are very fine. I'm happy with draws from those games, but am not fooling myself that they were fully deserved.

Looking at our remaining games, there looks the possibility of two wins and many defeats.

Just watched SSN discussion on our current situation. For me very telling more so of the lack of knowledge and insight the pundits offer but our situation also. Insistence that Pat is still the right man for the job and that we will be ok before an onslaught of damning statistics and commentary with nothing of any substance to back up the weak sentiment of ‘they’ll be ok’ beyond condemning other teams.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Yes I’ve not heard one single pundit apart from Chris Sutton say that we are in trouble everyone seems to think we will be “fine”
