The Turkish league is a piss poor league. Everton payed £27 million for Tosun and look how that ended. Tosun looks like he could be OK for us. He's even scored.

Err, the ones hes made already on about 3 posts. Try reading the thread properly, just saying. I think he has implied that we should never have let Sorloth go because he is banging in goals in the Turkish league. I think he has suggested that because scoring goals is all about confidence, RH should have shown more confidence in him. But it has been pointed out that Maine Eagle himself described Sorloth as a dreadful signing. I think he has implied that because Sorloth showed little sign of improving during his time here RH must not have coached him properly. But he himself has said that Ayew is a much improved player this season. I'm curious to know what Maine Eagle thinks lies behind this transformation. My main complaint is that people who slagged Sorloth off at the time (I was one of them) are on dodgy ground if they now complain that we should have kept him.

My main complaint is that people who slagged Sorloth off at the time (I was one of them) are on dodgy ground if they now complain that we should have kept him. Sorloth still hasn't proved himself, not really. But I think there's been a failure among football fans at large to appreciate how hard it can be for some young players to come into English football at its highest tier and impose themselves with limited, stop-start minutes, the glaring judgment of fans, battling for a place against incumbent player who might be inferior but knows the ropes. Sorloth's body language wasn't right, he never moved like a player who belonged, and always looked uneasy. To my eye, it always seemed worth a proper look. The difficulty is that when you're battling relegation, when a single place in the PL is worth so much £££, it's nigh impossible to take the long view. If the club really has ballsed up his loan (and effectively sold him), I would be disappointed but understanding. There's a litany of better players than Sorloth who've done this. Sometimes a player clicks, sometimes not.

The person in charge of these things is one Mr D Freedmam. He is where this whole fiasco started and should end with him being sacked for gross incompetence. OK send the guy on loan and OK maybe offer an option to but but to do a 2 year loan where we have no right of recall or indeed any rights at all is just negligent. This fiasco has also probably tainted all other transfer dealings as people must look at us whenever we want to buy or sell and think you don't know what you are doing Mind you we prove that again and again in the market.

It matters not a jot whether he is scoring for fun or not as he is not our player. He is on loan with an option to purchase at a fixed price. There is no return clause unless of course they wish to return him. So all that will happen is that they buy him from us at a figure that has been mooted at around 6m Euro and sell him at a massive profit. There is nothing that can be done about it. Could you explain in more depth how you know such detail to be true? Genuine question, as there’s just so much talk of this but little detail or substance and I am intrigued to know more of the details of the loan deal.

Massive difference in standard from the Turkish League to the EPL or La Liga He was utter toilet for us and I just don’t buy the ‘he wasn't given a chance‘ stuff! He looked AWFUL yet was still given Eight starts and Twelve substitute appearances. We persevered with him far longer than we should’ve done, he was that poor! Neil Warnock sums it up perfectly with this piece from Soccer Saturday today...absolutely priceless! Video link attached below... He’s clearly spoken to people in the know about him (from Palace) and they obviously didn’t rate him and I can see why! He is shocking and nowhere near good enough for top flight football. I don’t ever want him back but it would be nice to get the full transfer fee for him rather than just the left overs after Trabzonspor flog him!

What people never point out is how very hard it is for a centre forward in a Palace shirt to score. If you are a defensive team with few, if any, providers able to place a pass it is hellishly difficult. Ask Murray, Gayle, Bamford (!) Benteke, Ayew and Tosun. If we were to persist with someone who can hold and pass the ball (e.g Max Meyer) the true talent of Sorloth might have been revealed. If he eventually makes it good in the PL our loaning out policy for him will look ludricous and expensive.

Pogba, Dr Bruyne, Salah...sometimes players crap out only for it to dawn that they are worldies...it happens... Even Collymore back in the day... People just find a place where they feel right and that's when you see what they are capable of No shame in it, just a pity

Surely you loan out players to give them game time and monitor their progress, a 2 year loan with no recall option beggars belief

Can't believe we've done such a stupid deal....thought our Chairman was smart... Just shows you he wasn't given a proper chance and some people are going to end up having egg on their face 's here....I feel we have similar players here ... Jairo and Max ... Just hope they don't make the same error....
