Some of the wooden coathangers are well constructed, sturdy and don't look bad at all. The wire ones bend and the plastic ones snap and both can be a darned inconvenience.I have a combination of all 3 types in my wardrobes.I think I will ask my dear wife to get some nice wooden ones and I will throw the others away. Edited by Willo (16 Feb 2017 11.10am) I don't use wooden ones for ethical reasons. I mainly use ones made of mink and veal.

Steam ironing presses. My other half has one - cost quite a lot. She sticks it on the kitchen table where it takes up loads of space, makes loads of noise and steam (the press not her). To put it away correctly requires a degree in mechanical engineering and industrial safety gloves. The stuff it irons doesn't even seem any better than conventional ironing to me. I'll be honest, I lied and wasn't prepared for follow up questions.

Secondly, my wardrobes are not awash with wooden ones - I also have plastic and wire ones which I really want to replace for reasons I have described earlier. Edited by Willo (16 Feb 2017 12.47pm)

Edited by Willo (16 Feb 2017 12.47pm) You can get a Benteke coat hanger but unfortunately it doesn't do a great job of holding anything up.
