Unfortunately not. The whole premise of safe standing is that the same number of fans occupy the same rows.

Have a look at the "seating" they use in Germany which should explain it.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

We spend nearly all our money on wages so unless there is another magic money tree not residing in SW1 then I am already calling bullsh1t on whatever announcement is being made. Unless it costs only a few quid.

A never to be fulfilled 'legacy' but at least someone can say they tried.

We’ll easily fill a 40k stadium. And if we get relegated and the gates drop we’ll just have to make sure we get back up again quick sharp. I’ve never seen our support levels so high in my lifetime. Palace shirts all over south London these days where as growing up it used to be Chelsea and Arsenal. Even Muggy mates of mine who don’t support their local team have spawned kids that love Palace Now days. SP has done a great job of raising the clubs profile and making us more attractive, also helped by the sustained period in the PL. w

I imagine the Consultancy work into whatever Plans are to be announced, is huge.
The initial proposal is likely to be full-on, so one assumes they've done some listening to local residents, architects and Councillors over what is likely to be acceptable.
There will inevitably be some tweeks required in order to gain Planning Permission, or provisions made whether Compulsory Purchase orders are issued, or not.

I very much doubt it, particularly if the training ground experience is anything to go by. If there'd be any sort of public consultation it would have been reported by the media; local residents would hardly have been sworn to secrecy.

Yup, too early. The order of play is plans drawn; plans submitted; extensive advertising obligations; consultation process; decision.

In terms of decision, I do not know whether this one goes to LPA committee or straight to the Secretary of State. I am not a planning lawyer.

PS I hope this post does not constitute stalking/following. You just happened to have the last comment.

I know that this was asked of Goldfinger but I certainly am in favour of Safe Standing its been trialed now for almost 2 decades in and around Europe without issues.

It's time we stopped pandering to certain 'action groups' that are stuck in the past are judging the debate based on the failure of 100yr old architecture.

I agree that this the 'formal' process...but to even have plans drawn up in the first place there would be a lot of consultation with planning authorities beforehand...as you'd want to mitigate any chance of having to pay more architects fees to re-design aspects.

You'd also expect to do a certain amount of groundwork with the local community (be it at meetings or with Consellors) for the very same reason...if this latter part has been neglected then SP must be either pretty confident that their 'due diligence' has been sufficient and he has the backing of the local Authority (which the mention of CPO's would suggest) or if he hasn't then he's trying to play a game of chicken.....I just hope it isn't the latter...but my gut feeling is that it may well be as Bexley and others suggests

^^True , but there is also the theory of trying to max-out on what is possible (you never know, you might get it) with a certain expectation that there might be some mitigation required

I think Parish is just forwarding what he wants, then awaiting for feedback from the community. Consultation will happen after Plans are submitted

It is my understanding that there are two possible outcomes that are still to be determined on the stadium.

One possibility is the relocation of the stadium in South Croydon somewhere although it's hard to think where this could go, New Addington? It couldn't go into areas like Coulsdon because of the green belt and there doesn't seem to be many areas that have that kind of land available. If it's moved it would be my guess that it would be funded by the sale of Selhurst to property development for housing.

Or redevelop Selhurst, the initial proposals afew years ago were to move sainsburys to the other end of the car park and rebuild that stand to one similar to the Holmesdale.

All I know at the moment is that is being kept very hush hush and this weekend CPFC have hired a consultancy firm to interview fans before the game on how they got there and their pre match experience to help with the new stadium decision. It was pointed out to the firm that Stoke wasn't the best game to interview fans but as they are looking to announce something soon they are going ahead with this one.
