Todays extra download is the 4th disc in a 15 disc set of the complete Live Aid shows in London and Philadelphia on the 13th July 1985 which I started posting recently. The shows were organised by Bob Geldorf and raised aid money for countries like Ethiopia and Somalia and others. A whole host of stars gave their services to the shows including.... David Bowie, Phil Collins, Elvis Costello, Dire Straits, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Queen, Status Quo, Sting, U2, Ultravox, Wham, The Who, Bryan Adams, The Beach Boys,! The Cars, Black Sabbath, Eric Clapton, Duran Duran, Hall & Oates, Mick Jagger, Judas Priest, Kenny Loggins, Billy Ocean, Ozzy Osbourne, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, REO Speedwagon, Lionel Richie, Santana, Simple Minds, Tears For Fears, Tina Turner, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Sade, Patti LaBelle, Nik Kershaw, Band Aid, among others. The quality of the shows is superb and the audio has been taken from BBC FM radio broadcasts of the shows. This is a great bootleg set and is thoroughly recommended.... Todays first download isn't a bootleg but it is a live album - and it's absolutely fantastic... This is The Who Live at the Wembley Arena, London on the 8th July 2013 performing their classic Quadrophenia. I cannot say anything bad about this - I don't think it's possible... the band roll back the years and let rip with probably the best live version I've ever heard of this wicked album.... I thought I'd give it a quick listen last night when I downloaded it, so I played the first track.. then the next, and so on, and so on.... then I realised I'd played the whole thing - and enjoyed every single minute...the 12 minute version of 5:15 is absolutely amazing - great drumming from Zak Starkey, then there's the bonus tracks...what a show!... any HOL'ers at this one ? .... this is the mutts.. Here is a download link I found for :- Quadrophenia Live In London 2013 - The Who Bitrate : 192Kbps Tracklisting : 01. Todays second download is a set by Black Grape that was recorded at the Academy, Brixton on the 9th February 1996. This is in superb quality and the audio for the set has been taken from the soundboard and it sounds top notch. According to my files this is the first album or bootleg by BG that I've posted although I've posted albums that the members of this band have played in. Shaun Ryder and Bez from Happy Mondays joined up with members of the Ruthless Rap Assassins to form Black Grape. They released two albums and disbanded in 1997. Since then Ryder has twice tried to reform Happy Mondays and now has a career as a tv presenter. On guitar we have Johnny Marr (Smiths) and the late Michael Hutchence (Inxs) provided guest vocals on track 6 - Reverend Black Grape. This is great stuff and is thoroughly recommended.... Todays first download is a set by former Pink Floyd man Richard Wright and selected tracks recorded on his final tour. This is in superb quality and the audio for the bootleg has been taken from the soundboard and it sounds absolutely fantastic - crystal clear, pin drop perfect sound. Some great stuff on this one as well - from the Dark Side Of The Moon. The Wall, Wish You Were Here... as well as earlier stuff like Arnold Layne and Astronomy Domine. This is a wicked bootleg and if you like Pink Floyd - this is a must have... this is thoroughly recommended.. and then some!.... Here is a download link I found for :- The Last Tour Of Richard Wright - Richard Wright/Pink Floyd (Bootleg) Quality : Superb Tracklisting : 01 - Speak To Me. Bonus track : 14 - Barn Jam 121. Todays second download is the first bootleg by this band that I've posted - but not the first album. This is The Kooks and the set they played at the recent Radio 1 Big Weekend Festival in Glasgow, Scotland on the 24th April 2014. This is in superb quality and the audio for the set has been taken from an FM broadcast of the show and it sounds top notch. This is also the first live album by The Kooks that I've posted and the band play a really good set - or at least the audience seen to think so. If you like The Kooks and want to know what they're like live - then grab this show.. this is thoroughly recommended... Dear staffie, It seems ages since I posted on this thread; my hard-drive rammed to overload with MP3 downloads. I was looking for two CD's this weekend, but my wife seems to have donated them to the 'jumble sale'. I am looking for the albums 'Isolation' and 'iv', by Toto,...if by chance you may stumble on any links, I would be very grateful.
I disengage, I turn the page. |
