Mother in law had first jab just before Christmas. Apparently 2nd jab may be delayed, which MIGHT render the first one useless. We shall see.

And so today we see another surge in infection rates. All totally predictable now specific guidance/laws seem to have in-built flexibility. Here's something a professor (not on the Government's payroll) said yesterday. "Prof Hugh Montgomery told BBC Radio 5 Live hospitals were facing a "tsunami" of Covid cases and he feared it would get worse after New Year's Eve. Just huge numbers coming in, my heart goes out as well to our emergency departments, seeing a tsunami in the last week or two of cases. Everyone is working at maximum stretch. "It is making me actually very angry now that people are laying the blame on the virus, and it is not the virus, it is people, people are not washing their hands, they are not wearing their masks," he said. "They are spreading this virus. Other people will spread it and people will die. They won't know they have killed people but they have." He added: "I am watching whole families getting wiped out here, and it's got to stop." and to illustrate why people are morons, attached is a photo of London on NYE. Notice the distancing and face masks (lack of) Attachment: NYE London.jpg (95.74Kb)

And to illustrate how forking stoopid people are , say compared to sheep, here is a photo showing that even farm animals are capable of better behaviour Attachment: socially distancing sheep.JPG (7,581.90Kb)

We may have ordered a 100m does of the Astra Zeneca vaccine but next week we start with 500k. Additionally all those retired doctors and nurses who have volunteered to come back to administer the jab are stuck in a mire of red tape. Boris you need to sort this out now. 1. At what rate will we get the vaccine from the manufacturer? How quickly can they ramp up. 2. Cut the red tape to a bare minimum these folk will only be giving a jab it's not a job interview. 3. Start mass vaccinations, schools, hospitals, surgeries, car parks have it going 24 x 7. I am fine with going for my jab at 3am in the morning so just get on with it.

Reading between the lines, I expect 'bumps in the road' in terms of vaccine manufacture and delivery and the reported targets for the roll-out appear hugely ambitious and unattainable. I appreciate that on occasions I am viewed as a prophet of doom and I will add to that perception by asserting that where we will be in Easter/Spring will be at variance with some of the utterings we have heard in recent weeks. I have also considered the possibility that this new 'Variant/strain' might have negative consequences following analysis currently underway.

Some people just refuse to be told but at least they are outside not inside at a party. Overall most people did stay home. My mate is Old Bill and he said most streets were deserted for his shift, although he is SE London not central.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Selfish reprobates took to the streets in droves in the knowledge that precious little would be done to them as a result of their irresponsible behaviour. The Police should have rounded them up, charged them and dispersed them using force if necessary.

Just some information really. My sister tested positive after working at a school in November 2020. She spent 10 days in bed and recovered. And tested negative.

It's always good to hear the real experiences as no one I know has had Covid. Although a couple have been tested with symptoms.

I live in a village with about 1500 population. The first person to get Covid19 was a lady in her 60's (only just moved here from Forest Hill). She had Covid in May (ish), spent 21 days in a coma in Eastbourne hospital. She came home a few weeks later, but she still has difficulty walking and needs corrective surgery on her legs when hospitals are able to do routine surgery again. Doctors told her husband they thought she would die, at her lowest point. 2 shop workers in village. The male in his 40's spent 2 weeks in Hospital (missing Christmas with his family) and came home around the 30th December. One of the shop owners kids tested positive after returning to school, and they think the kid is the most likely source
