Todays extra download is the first album or bootleg by this band that I've posted. This is Canadian band FM and a show recorded at Parkwest, Chicago, IL in 1979. The quality of this show is superb and the audio for the set has been taken from an FM broadcast on WXRT-FM radio. This band started in 1976 and are still going today... albeit in a vastly changed line up. The original band lasted until 1989 when they split up. They reformed again in 1994 but split again in 1996. A reunion for one gig in 2006 and they reformed yet again in 2011 and are still going today (thanks wiki). Thats all I know about the band... I've had a quick listen to this band and they play great prog rock... and this is a great show.. I will be keeping an eye out for more by this band... If you've never heard them before - try this show... this is thoroughlly recommended... Todyays first download is a recent set by Marillion that was recorded in Santiago, Chile on the 16th May 2014. This is in superb quality and the audio for the show has been taken from the soundboard and it sounds top notch. This is a long set with 3 encores by the band. The bands most famous track "Kayleigh" is played on the second encore. I've posted quite a few shows by Marillion over the years - this is another top sounding show for the collection. One word of advice - be prepared for some DJ chat between tracks - it doesnt go over the music though... it seems this is a reoccuring theme with dj's in South America - they all talk between tracks. If you like Marillion though - this is still worth grabbing... Todays second download is a set by former Creedence Clearwater Revival guitarist John Fogerty that was recorded at the El Rey, Los Angeles on the 28th May 2013. This is in superb quality and the audio for the show has been taken from the soundboard and it sounds top notch. This is a wicked set with some classic tracks which ends with some CCR classics. JF didn't play any CCR songs for over 15 years due to a dispute with his record company. Fortunately, he is now playing CCR songs again and he ends the set with the clasics "Bad Moon Rising" and "Proud Mary". If you like John Fogerty or CCR then this is a must have.... Todays extra download is a bootleg by Jethro Tull front man Ian Anderson. The quality of this bootleg is superb and the audio has been taken from an FM broadcast and sounds top notch. I can't tell you anything about when and where this was recorded. All I know is that it was recorded by a Spanish radio station. I've edited out 5 seperate short interviews in Spanish and just left the music and redone the back cover artwork. It's a great selection of tracks though and if you like Ian Anderson - it's definitely one for the collection... Todays first download is a set by Traffic that was recorded at the Konserthuset, Stockholm, Sweden on the 12th September 1967. This is in superb quality considering the age of the boot - the audio has been taken from the soundboard and it sounds top notch. I've posted stacks of shows by Traffic over the years - this is one of the earliest I've posted. This is is often referred to as the "Traffic Jam" concert as 9 days before the show Sweden had switched driving on the left side of the road to the right... causing a series of traffic jams that delayed the bands arrivan to the show,.. If you like Traffic - this is thoroughly recommended.. Todays second download is another set from this years Lollapalooza Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This is the set by Phoenix and it's in top quality with the audio being taken from the soundboard and it sounds wicked. I posted a few shows from Phoenix last year as they done the festival rounds - looks like they are doing the rounds again this year. If you like Phoenix then grab this show... this is thoroughly recommended... This is Dan Baird and a set recorded at the Lone Star Roadhouse, New York on the 1st April 1993/ This is in superb quality and the audio for the set has been taken from an FM broadcast on WNEW-FM radio. I have posted other shows which feature Dan Baird as he's also the singer and rhythm guitarist of The Georgia Sattelites. This is a cracking set as well - a cross of rock n roll/country/punk rock would be one way of describing it. If you like The Georgia Satellites, you will probably like this one as well.....
