This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle No transfer request handed in yet.....hopefully a negotiation tactic to get himself a 150k a week new contract and stay with us.... The press are piling on the pressure this morning and Big Sam saying it's time for him to leave....Big Sam F%&$ off - nothing to do with you! Plus Roy plays Zaha as striker, in a 4-4-2 currently and he's banging them in....stay at least till January Wilf, get us in the top 8 and then we want £100M!
Hopkin looks to curl one! |

Aren’t you a little bit suspicious at how we have gone from no money and FFP to suddenly paying wages that Arsenal can’t match? In a market where price is highly elastic and largely determined by the size of your wallet - why would the club be honest about the size about our budget? And also, you really cant believe everything you read in the press. I doubt we're paying £170k a week to Meyer. I certainly wont take the Daily Hate's word for it.

IF he goes just before the transfer deadline then that will leave us with lots of money and no one to buy. Surely if he was to leave it should be arranged for the January transfer window. If he leaves it's more likely to be to Chelsea and I guess that the deal will include a pretty decent player coming the other way so that won't leave us too short

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I know money talks , But due to Wilfs luv of palace and good relationships with Steve Parrish I would imagine they have already spoke about timing of him going ,which I think will be next season . I can’t imagine either Wilf or Steve would do business so near start of season .

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I hope he won't go and It is getting too late in window for us to spend money. So unless its a player exchange I can't see it happening and the Riederweld situation shows how difficult player exchanges can be. Having brought Meyer in we probably do not have much left in wages pot. For Zaha we would want 3 players at least and we probably have a wage budget of Zaha wage plus 20-30k pw

I hear Sam has just chipped in with his big fat mouth, he's publicly advising Wilf to leave Palace. Why would he care if we're a threat to Everton?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I would have thought that one of the attractions for Meyer to join is to play with the likes of Zaha. Finding out he's about to leave the day after he signed for palace simply doesn't make sense. All of the 'stories' about Zaha 'leaving' come from one source - the Daily Mirror, even Sky are referencing them as the source. It also doesn't make sense for Zaha to join another club after playing fully in pre-season with palace and missing out on all pre-season with any potential new club. This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I think we need to take the press stories with a massive pinch of salt. Willian has already threatened legal action over the fake agent story and claimed he is staying at Chelsea, Wilf has consistently distanced himself from the news stories on social media, and Told Nick Philpot, ‘nothing has changed, I don’t know where these stories keep coming from’’. Ultimately it’s all coming from somewhere, in my eyes the most likely source is Chelsea, the fact that they want him is the only obvious thing to draw from all of this. We have spent £9.5 million this window so far and have no need to sell, even if Wilf did want a move, we would be better off forcing him to stay one more season and giving our best 11 a chance to play together and see what we can do. We all know that Wilf is a good professional who doesn’t cause problems behind the scenes despite what the press say, that’s why Roy picked him as one of the senior players along with Punch, Damo and Luka last year to keep an eye on other players. I’m sure even if the rumours were true and he was gutted he would get on with it and still give 100%.

The prospect of Meyer linking up with Zaha has my mouth salivating to the point that my wife has put me in the garden as a water feature. Edited by taylors lovechild (03 Aug 2018 11.00am)

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Roy is on the Jim White show shortly - might give us some info which I expect to be - "he is going nowhere but I can't comment what might happen if a big offer comes in for him before the end of the window" - should leave us suitably in the dark!
