I actually feel a bit lost not having to worry, pray or pretend we are safe... mid table mediocrity here we come and I couldn't be happier.
This was once a quality forum.... |

Probably better for us if West Brom get religated but it would be a more entertaining last day if Southampton and Swansea to draw, and Huddersfield to lose. Glad we are out of it.

If WBA play us needing a win, and most probably by more than one goal, they will surely have to abandon their usual shape in order to “go for it”, thereby giving our boys a chance to “run riot”.

Could we be the ones to relegate 2 sides in 2 weeks? Not nice I know - we have been on the receiving end so many times and I was fearing the same again for us again this season. But we're not - so this time are we the masters of destinies..!! Personally I think Southampton will beat Swansea tonight - so relegating WBA - so our match on Sunday will be a "dead rubber". Southampton are IMO the best side in "the scramble for safety" and will be too good for Swansea tonight. But I can see Swansea beating Stoke on Sunday and sending Huddersfield down - we'll see..! Southampton safe because of goal difference. Chelsea and Arsenal to beat Huddersfield and Swansea to beat Stoke anyone?

So glad it’s not us knocking West Brom down phew!! Agreed, Moore's legend is now "immortalised" as he can't save the club through no fault of his own, but it looks like he might just have pulled it off. It's a good result for us in the sense that their players won't be making dangerous tackles now or playing at full intensity (except Dawson), so will be more of a post season friendly for them, whereas we have a few million quid to play for. But of course it would have been better for us in the long run if saints had been relegated. Edited by FairweatherEagle (08 May 2018 10.00pm)

Wish it was us.Remember WBA really taunting us BIG time about going down when we played them at Selhust the game before the 2-2 escape at Sheff Weds. What goes around...can't wait to give it back on Sunday ha ha Edited by eag-les (08 May 2018 10.35pm)
If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong |

Is that right? If Southampton win tonight and Huddersfield lose their game, they will only be 3pts above Swansea with a worse goal difference... (Southampton will be ahead of them). Swansea have Stoke last day, Huddersfield have Arsenal... not at all that unlikely they could finish in the bottom 3. Yes, what I said is exactly right. For Huddersfield to go down with 36 points, Swansea must now beat Stoke. If Huddersfield get just one more point, they cannot be caught by the Swans.
