I hereby announce my retirement from betting on useless wastes of space.

After the first race today i decided that my money would be better spent elsewhere. My horse, the delightfully named Treaty of Utrecht, was 11-4 ON in a race with 4 other horses. Lets just say it did not do too well.

Once my horses have finished today i will be retiring my betting slips to a cosy granny-flat in bournemouth where they will wile away their remaining years.

Thank you and good night

I will however have a couple of quid on the world cup. And maybe the derby and the oaks. And probably other stuff. Maybe

Hurrican Alan beats my nap into second. I should have seen that coming... Net profit now down to £8.50.

I also had it in a double with Treaty Of Utrecht. Hmmmm.

Ah well, my each-way bet on Cameroon together with Ronaldinho top scorer will doubtless earn me, er, loads. Honest. *sigh*

"Amusing" bet of the day -- Mr Spliffy (heh heh heh snigger) each-way in the 8.10 at Windsor.

Sadly Mr Spliffy was unplaced last night. Presumably he couldn't be arsed. I know the feeling!

Today's nap tip is Nayyir (Beverley 3.20), and I would also recommend backing Highdown (Goodwood 3.40) and Gallant Boy (Goodwood 4.15).

And a draw for England v Korea at 11/5 is tempting indeed, given that England won't want to push too hard and risk injuries, and Korea are fairly gung-ho at the moment after beating the mighty Sweaties....

I'm sure you'll agree.

Good point Matt!

Nayyir won today at 6/4, so my profits on an even £1 stake are now up to £11.00.

Highdown lost, sadly, and Gallant Boy has yet to run as I type this.

Thank goodness I also backed the winner of that race at 14/1 then.

Today's nap is Maniatis (Goodwood 3.40), with Seignosse (Goodwood 2.00) and Stormez (Worcester 3.20).

Not much confidence today due to the lack of quality across the board, so I wouldn't go crazy on these bets if I were you!

How many of AP's do you reckon today? I could see maybe 3, Valfonic, Stormez and Puntal winning, all Pipe horses as well. The only one without a chance is probably Massimo (which will now win)

FYI AP wins approx 1 in 3.5 races at Worcs so i reckon 2 minimum!!
