As for Rachel's late-arriving contribution I have no reply, except perhaps to ask why it was considered OK to move my apparently offensive posts to General Talk, where offensive posts are as unwelcome as they are on C&HAG. Her reply, while factually correct, goes no way to explaining why the thread was moved or deleted. If you found a dog s*** on your bed would you move it onto the sofa? No, because that's an equally unsuitable location. Sorry Rachel I didn't want to say so, but your post is no help whatsoever.

Re-reading the entire thread, the next best one is Penge's advising me not to post. I think if people are going to get upset because I've pointed out someone being arrested, or NOT pointing out someone being killed, or (heaven forfend) pointing out something a dead bloke said... then I will follow this advice.

Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed - and even learned from - your little foray into Enlightenment philosophy. I just was hoping we'd got over the censorship issue and could carry on the debate at the heart of this thread.

Fair enough, I can see why you'd want to move on from the censorship issue, having failed to explain the inconsistent actions taken by the HOL board moderators.

The issue which is debated at the heart of this thread was also in a previous thread, which is now gone. A lot of people made a lot of effort to make their points in that thread, but those efforts don't appear to have been respected. For someone who professes to want to carry on that debate, I don't see evidence of that in your post -- just personal remarks about another user.

Neillo's daughter certainly deserves that respect as far as her thread is concerned, even if I don't. Don't you think? After Stu's post, is not censorship now becoming the main thrust of this thread?
