Those are the cowards and while I have issues with Trump and his lies, they aren't worth the crap on his shoe in comparison. Iwo Jima moment

That's never been in question, but the mess that US politics is in and its structural inability to heal itself means that they can end up with someone like Trump. You are entitled to want all kinds of things, but that doesn't mean they are sensible. You are entitled to be stupid, but it's not wise to be. Who’s stupid: the Americans who want Trump, or Trump?

The idea that anybody could access, let alone set themselves up for a shot, on that roof, in direct line of fire and at a range less than 200 yards simply beggers belief. The only people up on that roof should have been the security detailed to be up there....oh.....mhm. If this is just a cock-up then heads need to roll within 48 hours. This stinks now. To high-heaven. Shoot the shooter and kill the trail. The dark forces need to find another patsy.

Stupid has been constantly leveled at Republican supporters for years and that makes me more determined to do what I believe not what I’m told! Another term of Joe and his policies is unthinkable and I am the stupid one!

Because the US President impacts us too, yet we have no direct route to influence who they are. Showing our resolve and making sure our distaste is understood is all we can do, alongside trying to understand what the consequences of such a choice might be and to prepare for them. I don't limit my conversations about Trump to here. I use other, US-based forums, some sympathetic to him and others opposed. Understanding how people think is valuable. To me anyway. When I first stood on the Holmesdale end I had no idea that one day my fellow Glaziers would one day hold such sway over the geo-political sphere.

Shoot the shooter and kill the trail. The dark forces need to find another patsy. Well quite. And clearly snipers in place to cover that roof space. Which reinforces the question about why did they not have people up there as well? Or a drone? It was not an urban environment. There were limited amounts of spots for sniper to operate from.

Another term of Joe and his policies is unthinkable and I am the stupid one! Not by me. There are many very responsible and intelligent Republicans. The accusations about stupidity has been levelled at those who elevate Trump to some kind of deity who can do no wrong. There won’t be another term of Joe, even if his policies do continue under another Democrat.

There were limited amounts of spots for sniper to operate from. There are definite questions to be asked....Considering the speed at which he got taken out after shooting five to eight shots the security forces seemed to know where he was....Surely your first suspicion would be amongst the crowd. The suspicion was did they allow the attempt and then ensure closure. Unlikely but it'll be part of the analysis. Edited by Stirlingsays (14 Jul 2024 2.45pm)

Edited by Stirlingsays (14 Jul 2024 2.45pm) Even if you accept that there was no kind of conspiracy going on, the fact they had nobody up on that rooftop is just glaring. Beyond negligent. If you deemed it enough of a threat to have a sniper team covering that space, then you could have people up there. That simple. Even local cops. Any kind of risk assessment would have pin-pointed that spot as a potential sniping opportunity.
