I think what is clear is that there is not a queue of PL clubs in for him. Loan deal, would be fine.

He's probably my favourite ever Palace player, but it's a no from me.

Let's be honest, he's not going to want to go anywhere just to sit on the bench. So where would he fit into our team? I suppose the natural position would be on the left of our front three behind Mateta but that's where Eze plays. He could play on the right instead but we've just bought Sarr who is younger, quicker and, most importantly, actually our player so I'd rather give him a go. He could be an extremely attacking left wing back to compete with Mitchell but then we'd be incredibly defensively vulnerable down that side. I don't see where he fits in and, I have to be honest my first reaction was "I don't want him back". Would much rather spend some money trying to unearth the next Eze/Olise who might accept understudying Eze with a view to replacing him when he leaves. Sounds like an agent trying to alert other clubs of his availability. Reckon he has Everton written all over him.

You generally get a player in on loan to plug a gap in the squad when either there's limited funds or a lack of options for sale. There is no gap in the position Wilf prefers to play. The only way I see this happening is if Eze were sold and the club were unable to find a replacement. Gala were also fairly disrespectful when they spoke about Palace after they signed Wilf so I doubt Parish has any appetite to deal with them again. If Wilf wants to stay in Europe, he might look at France as he speaks fluent French and could probably do well there.

We dont need him, and wont be good for his ego. Across Europe there are enough big historic team (whilst not being top their) that I'm sure he could have a crack at. Or hop over the pond to Miami and enjoy the last few years in the sun.

According to chatter on FB, the loan fee is reported to be £9m plus his wages, it's a no from me. Edited by eagleman13 (08 Aug 2024 8.57am)

Lazy clickbait story. He is now well past his best. He was arguably past his best in his last season for us. Over priced over paid and we should be over him
