Yes now, but not a couple of years ago. And they have had a European jaunt! ... and probably the best and most consistent academy, thus providing a longer term feed i.e. what we want.

Who would have thought of putting a £8m release clause in his Reading contract when he had barely played. Similarly £35m at Palace from day 1 was a sensible addition too. Who do you think 'revealed' his release clause to the papers? A few weeks later he doubles his clients weekly wages at Palace.

He's either completely independent in his intelligence, negotiation and decision making, therefore some sort of genius, or he must have somebody to at least talk it through with, whether that be an agent or somebody performing in that capacity (parents)? Either way, he has played it very smartly. I would also add however that none of this would be possible were he not a very, very good footballer. Nobody's ever met my wage demands or release clause as a footballer so that was a lot of wasted time and effort. If we are to lose him, there will be a sense of inevitability about it however fair play to him for management of his career. I'd love to see him stay of course, the hug with OG was encouraging, however I more hope that our plans are in place for that eventuality which again, seems somehwat inevitable.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

It seemed a certainty he'd leave last year after all - well, maybe not to others but I thought he was going.

He's still young too Teddy. if he likes Glasner, likes playing for him (and with Ebs), but more importantly if he thinks there is further progress to be made here he might yet stay. And yes, this is a deliberate attempt at optimism

I would love to see Olise, Eze and matata stay. With Guehi back and Docoure next to Wharton, with Hughes and Lerma as back up. Just one season and see where it gets us. Munoz has made a massive difference as well. I can dream of top 6!!!

I think we will have to sell to buy and my preference would be Marc because we haven't really missed him and can replace him the easiest.

Great to hear from Mark Lawrenson, I can even say I've missed his predictions the last two years. So what did he say? That Olise and Eze would be great for Liverpool(by the way they could fit anywhere). The way they and the whole Palace team have been playing lately almost everybody wants them. I'm tired of reading about completed deals and other bulls***. lets be a little more patient.

A real turnaround from previous summers where we are usually desperate for news of who we are buying This year with our recent starting 11 and Johnstone, Guehi, Doucoure, Lerma and Ayew we don't need anyone for a great starting 11 if we were lucky with injuries but looking to fill squad places and wing back cover But desperate not to see any sales Well Eduoard maybe but I doubt there will be many takers on his wages in relation to his likely destinations - and I think he might give decent cover as self-preservation in a contract year could coax some good performances out of him when called upon
