And we have Wolves, Fulham and Man U to play, who are all in the bottom half of the table :-)

We seem to have a problem with our manager's name. Roy was Roy but we can't call him Oliver, not in south London anyway. His surname is too formal and a bit rude so we need a nickname of some sort.
I have a completely original suggestion: GLAZZA! I have no idea where the idea came from.

I always referred to him as 'Mr Hodgson' on HOL.
I have heard someone refer to Oliver Glasner as 'Oli G'.

Am I too old, how is it Rude?

incidentally,
Glassner, Glässner or Glaessner is a surname of German origin, a variant of Glasner, which in turn is a variant of Glaser, an occupational surname meaning "glass maker".

So he actually is a Glazier.

I don't see any issues with using his surname or even just Oli myself, but I think Glazza and Oli G are both excellent alternatives. I'm sure we'll naturally settle on whichever one we prefer before too long.

I suppose it could always be OG of course, at least in written form online, although it may not look too good in a footballing context.

OG smacks of 'own goal' to me. As far as I'm concerned he's Ollie.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Yes, I read that too Spider. Insightful piece and I confess I was unaware he'd suffered a brain haemorrhage bringing an end to his playing career.

The more I learn about him, the more I take to him. An all round good egg.

Snap.

I'm looking at some of the horrendous managerial goings on within our own league, let alone others, and wondering how we've managed to snap him up!

That's all going off of the three last games of course, but so far everything is looking very positive.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Me too, can't see any problem in referring to him as Ollie as I'm sure he has been called many times before, He seems to be an extremely nice, honest and capable man who has so far worked wonders on our team and long may it continue!
