The predicted peak population was made based on prevailing birth rates. It has an upper middle and lower projection. Of course, this could change again. Will you get all excited if the rate increases again like you seem to be now? I doubt it. Fact is that this will not stop population growth for decades to come. There is always a lag between birth decline and population growth.

This article perfectly highlights how some people are more concerned with the 'far right' than the truth. We are in crisis. Our birth rates are falling. Our governments want to compensate by flooding the West with migrants. This will not succeed and can only lead to the extinction of Europeans. Here is the BBC trying really hard to avoid mentioning Britain and the obvious impending disaster. The BEEB does mention that Britains population is expected to peak at 75 million in 40 years time. That's about 8 million more than now.

The birth rate is currently around 1.6. It needs to be over 2.1 to maintain itself. Currently European populations will decline with increasing speed. What some people don't understand is that as birth declines, the number of people of child rearing age reduces thus causing an acceleration in the process. This will continue until either the population disappears or is absorbed. The only thing that reverses this process is a big spike in the birth rate.

Then I discovered the attractions of a rural life suited me so on retirement moved to my favourite county. For a while I had an office in London but even back then was working from home a lot and travelling frequently so had no need to go there other than for meetings with my staff. The sides I am talking about are those who look forward and try to ensure that all citizens, old and new, are happy, comfortable and equally committed to the UK and are prepared to do what they can to help achieve that. Or are you a defeatist, who believes that only disaster lies ahead, is always looking backwards rather than forwards and holds unrealistically ideas about changing things that are incapable of change?

I remember Cyprus offering quite a bit of money per child. It could have been the actual Cyprus countering the North Cyprus, however, I don't know. I get the feeling a couple of places did it. I almost guarantee that if there were ten grand per child, certain demographics would be churning them out. However, don't think it will be able to help the decline in a lot of countries now. Countries like Japan could probably do it and make it work. I struggle to think of any real Western country where it would work now.

We don't ideally want people having kids just for financial perks, but when our very existence could depend on it, any incentive would be a positive.

You know exactly what it means. There are no realistic ideas about doing anything that’s incapable of being done. Just daydreams! So if you truly are a realist you won’t be wasting time and energy pursuing the impossible but instead do your best, however reluctantly, to work with what we have to ensure we achieve the best outcome possible. Agree?
