My over riding thought is that without Textor's money we would probably be in the Championship now

I know what you are saying but of course it is impossible to know the path not traveled. Probably there were alternative sources of capital.

That said, I think a lot of people, myself included, have a deep rooted suspicion of multi club ownership that isn't grounded in fact.

I do believe he's not wealthy enough, but I am trying to think through this multi club thing and I suspect that (a ) it doesn't have to be a disaster for football and (B ) that it doesn't have to be a disaster for Palace

I get that.

I suppose an alternate take is that if Palace didn't have Textor's money then Harris and Blitzer would have had to inject more funds into the club. Or another investor would have been identified.

I had very positive thoughts on Textor when he first came to the club. I met him briefly and he seemed very knowledgeable around football.

I think people have become wary of him because of his multi club ownership ambitions. Not helped by those other clubs in that portfolio having issues with him.

While Parish retains the support of Harris and Blitzer, Textor will have his ambition of moving his share in Palace into his Eagle Holdings vehicle thwarted. That will remain a problem until something gives.

I think if Textor is prepared to wait, he'll get what he wants in a couple of years time.

Fans really don't have any say on ownership in England do they? We're basically powerless; it doesn't matter if a murderous state or some American chancer runs your club, there's nothing you can do except put up with it.
I've often thought that all fans of Premier League teams should boycott matches - vote with their feet on ownership and money issues. Ticket prices for example. However, I can't help but feel it would change nothing. Obviously, TV money is the main reason, however, another reason is whenever I go to a match I'm surrounded largely by tourists. Quite how they get so many tickets is anyone's guess. My estimate at a Liverpool match is that maybe ten percent of the crowd come from Liverpool. Not much different at Man Utd or City.

Nice words..

It could be his way of being more vocal and present with the media, maybe gearing up for a change of guard? Who knows.. it's obvious he cares, it's obvious he has put a lot of money in and he's drawn his line in the sand with the ultra's, which I quite like.. they are no different to you or I and at the end of the day, they can be replaced - sure the atmosphere may be different but the tickets will still sell and ice goes on, they are not part of the board...

I honestly don’t get what a lot of you are implying and I hate using the term Ultras. This isn’t a group of people that stab opposition fans outside the Stadio Olympico in Rome. They are a passionate organisation of Palace fans.

Are you seriously trying to tell me that the majority of you didn’t want Roy removed, or any announcement from our board, 3 weeks ago?

Yes they put up banners, after supporting a team through a game that was once more lost, with no change of tactics/formation and no use of youngsters.

The banners shown are paid for by raising money from Palace fans, they ask for donations on the HF website. They are not an isolated group speaking against the rest of us, they are an unofficial way that supporters can have a voice.

Without them, we’d still have Roy in charge and no interview from any board member outlining the direction the club is taking and why we can’t move forward as quickly as they’d like.

It’s the silence from the board that has created this tension. I for one support the HF and am over the moon that we now have a forward thinking, technical minded manager, coupled with real information from the board.

Fair enough, but it was the highlighted section that I really objected to.

I don’t see the HF as being a small part of the fanbase with opinions that don’t match the feelings of the majority. They very much reflected what was being said on here in the last couple of months.

Here's why I dislike the multi club format

Strasbourg have lost 4 on the bounce how long before Pat gets the sack. Meanwhile Chelsea Loanees are being prioritised over the needs of the Strasbourg team according to this article.

They are a small minority of the fan base, same as posters on here, what I & a lot of people object to is the hf thinking they speak for ALL of us, they don't. To my knowledge & I stand to be corrected, there are only about 200-250 of them, whereas there is another 24k of us in SP. This debate about them has been done to death on here many times, there will never be agreement. We all applaud what they bring, but, they should leave it at that, my opinion.

Really interesting - never knew Bloom was at it too. I'm not keen on it. I would go as far as to say it needs to be banned. It's the transfers between clubs that I'm mainly concerned with. I thought they were supposed to be heavily scrutinised but they don't seem to be. Again, a failure of governing bodies. Let's take a stab in the dark and guess it's all about money. Just a guess mind.

The HF spokesmen seem to be Leftist anti establishment types who attack the very thing that facilitates their fun on a Saturday afternoon.
Without capitalism, you don't get Premier League football.

They hold up banners that criticise the owners after they were given the middle of the stand, and then wonder why their banners get banned.

Not too bright is it.

Textor again hinted he will sell O'Brian to a PL club (Everton) this summer. Suppose Everton pay £15m to cash strapped Lyon, how exactly does that benefit Palace?

I know people have said that O'Brian wanted first team football but we could have loaned him to Lyon or any other club.
