With the manage situation a shambles, with "press" reports saying he cant find anyone to take the job, dose anyone think that Cooper would turn the Palace job down, i cant see him getting a better club, and the more i think about it, Cooper is the best option

I think for a number of reasons Cooper would be an awful choice. I think its telling that he has been out of work for months now and not just Palace but no one has been linked with him at all.
In the Championship I think he is a great coach. He has done little with massive resources in this division. Resources he wont get at Palace

I don't think Cooper wants the job. If he did he would have been appointed by now.

Let's face it the only person who believes Steve Parish is competant to run the club is Steve Parish so he should maybe just put himself in as manager.

Tim, we are in 14th place now. But forget the league position then look at the points away from the relegation zone. Add to that current form, and the injury situation. It’s not a pretty picture.

We seem to have a different version of Roy now. I like and respect him but he seems to be struggling over the last few months. My own personal opinion, but he has not been helped by the clubs Summer purchases with the exception of Lerma. So injuries to an already lightweight squad have left him with few options other than to continually select players that are not up to standard and/or out of form. I’ll park his mis trust of young players for now as I don’t think , Ozoh apart, there are any that look ready to compete at Premier League level.

There does seem to be an issue between medical team and manager. I won’t pretend to know more about football than the seasoned professional that is Hodgson, but introducing Olise into the game last Saturday was a complete nonsense. And has been widely recognised as so.

Parish’s continued silence is resulting in widespread speculation about the managers position. There are two ways you can interpret that. First of all he may not even be contemplating sacking Roy - or, he’s busily trying to recruit someone.

All we are left with then is the media reporting which ranges from the Board being furious with Hodgson after the Olise debacle, through to the search for a new manager and an apparent reluctance to take the job by the supposed candidates.

So if the search for a new man is genuine, then Parish shows the same concerns of most on here. Is he then imagining a crisis too ?

What do expect Parish to say? Give Roy a vote of confidence, usually means he is on his way out.
Parish will have a plan, contrary to many peoples opinions. We have no need to know, as by telling everyone, only opens himself up to critics, if every word doesn’t come to fruition. Silence is his best policy.

It's a good point and I agree.

Much of the anxiety will be driven by the fear that a plan is not in place however history tells us there always has been one and it has kept us alive thus far.

I’m curious as to why people dislike Cooper so much when you look at his CV.
He won the youth World Cup with England, and took Swansea to the play offs in his first season.
He went to Nottingham Forest and took them from the bottom of the Championship to the Premier League , a feat that they hadn’t achieved for many years.
Promoted clubs often struggle as we have seen in recent years and frequently go straight back down.
However, he kept them up against the odds despite a basket case owner who bought players against Cooper’s wishes and constantly undermined him.
That to me looks a pretty unblemished career up until this season.
The fans idolised him there which seemed to antagonise the owner even more so it was no surprise that there was a parting of ways.

I’m not particularly a fan of the football his teams play, but it seems only fair to try and introduce some balance into the debate.

A) Nobody else has been sacked since he left Forest. The first manager to come close is, seemingly, Roy and we have been linked with him.
B) Their chairman is out of control and I think Cooper did a fantastic job considering the ridiculous squad turnover they had, which clearly wasn't his doing. Buying your manager far too many players is as bad as buying them not enough. He's also very good at managing young players, which he'll need to be here.
