We face the ignominy of being beaten 3 times by one mediocre team in one season. However...

...the last time I recall this happened, it was Watford. I also seem to recall they went down that season and we did not.

Screw the Cup. This season is all about safe mid table till we get someone more exiting to manage.

Not a chance we will finish mid table.. We won't finish any higher than 14th.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

For the purposes of this thread can we classify 14th as mid table

An interesting question: What constitutes mid-table?

You could argue that the top 5 are Top, bottom 5 are Bottom, and the 10 in the middle are Mid.

Or Top 6, Bottom 6, Middle 8.

Only if you stretched to 7, 7, and 6 would 14th NOT be considered mid-table. That's a relatively even distribution, but I wouldn't call 7th "Top of the Table" nor 14th "Bottom."

I could watch that goal again and again. I couldn’t understand half what the commentator said… but I’d still rather that than listen to the squawking females on sky and TNT

Winners: 1st
Runners up/CL place: 2nd-4th
Europeans Places(non-CL): 5th-8th (??)
Mid-table: 9th-12th
Lower table finish: 13th-15th
Relegation battlers/survivors: 16th/17th
Relegated: 18th-20th

There's nothing remotely researched or factual about that, just off the top of my head (not even sure on European places!).

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

From the highlights I've seen we created four good chances, squandered all of them and probably should have won irrespective of how turgid the football apparently was.

The two best chances presented from crosses by our centre backs which gives a picture of how little quality we have.

Nobody's winning the FA Cup with our injuries, squad and only two attacking players above Championship level.
