Good first half, poor 2nd half, although that was due to a change in Brighton tactics.

I was really impressed with clyne tonight, he was great against a tough opponent in Mitoma. I think ward might have struggled.

Good to see a high press first half. Feeling more optimistic now after the past 3 games. Hopefully we don’t sit so deep in the coming games.

Yep agree with you there Nich , its 2 more points than i thought we'd have also . We looked weaker in the second half when they started doubling up on Olise . I put a tenner on for a 1-1 draw when we scored . I dont think the subs made us any better , Eze just didnt look fit or ready or just didnt want to engage , i dont know which . I will be a bit more confident when Sam comes back from injury and Hendo stops playing the ball is made of lava . Roy stayed on the pitch a lot longer than usual dont know if there is anything to read into that , nice to see our fans not booing him off , Respect the point and the manager , Hopefully we will beat the snot out of Chelski next .

Yeah, agree with most of that.

I think we are where we are: we have a core of SJ, MG, JA, CD, JL, EE, MO and possibly JA but with a couple of those out about 5/6 first team players and the rest just making up numbers and filling in gaps.

Roy’s negative and uninspiring football may well be requisite once again, just to see us through avoiding relegation. Until we invest a bit more sincerely I find it difficult to see the manager as at least the primary problem and I have a feeling the line this season has been drawn at just ‘not getting relegated’.

Therefore, whilst I’m not cheering wildly, we’re 9 points above a very poor bottom three. We have a tough month ahead but then hopefully things may pick up from there, even if January only yields more Holding/Hendersons if nothing at all. No wild celebrations but no gut wrenching, heart breaking despair either! I’ll just keep cheering us on even through very cynical eyes and slight resentment/frustration… nothing unfamiliar

COYP!! And Merry Christmas all.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

The game followed a predictable path.

We must be happy with a point against a far superior and much more entertaining opposition.

Eze clearly struggled coming on late and was at fault for the goal…failing to clear the ball instead giving it straight back to them.

JP worked his socks off with little service.

As good as Henderson was on Sat he was as poor today….terrible.

Clyne rolling back the years, had a good game, much better than Ward. Mateta improving with game time.
Hinslewood for them was impressive as only a youngster, doubt we have anyone of his ability coming through.

Roy has just said he took Ayew off because he was on 4 yellows and didn’t want to risk losing him. I thought Ayew got 5th yellow against Liverpool or does the red card over ride that yellow and he’s back on 4?

Now I understand why we are trying to buy the German keeper.
With Johnson out our cover is questionable. And that is being polite.

Most people here are making the same point which I think is right. Why sit back and defend for most of the second half? That means trouble against teams like Brighton.Welbeck's header was unstopable but he shouldn't have been given the opportunity to have it. A special mention for Mateta and Clyne, they were both very good. We are playing better than we did a few weeks ago, but that is not enough. Merry Christmas to all of you and lets hope for a few wins coming in. COYP!

Henderson was shaky tonight but that was only his second full appearance since January and he had a big hand in our point at City. The whole midfield was chasing shadows in the second half so also perhaps in hindsight not the game to bring on Ozoh. I still think more of a question is why Eze came on on the left. Schlupp was on the bench. Eze and Olise need to be next to each other. That was Roy's simple magic trick last season. If we'd ended up losing this things could have turned ugly, but in the end a decent point and half a good performance.

As opposed to Clyne who is the 71st best right back in the PL

He was bloody awful
