And if not there are always excuses about him not being a good public speaker. That wasn’t in public and I bet it was said as a joke, with his tongue firmly in his cheek.

Carry on spinning. That it wasn’t in public is a fact. That it was a joke isn’t but seems more than likely given the context. Don’t though you let that get in the way of your determination to judge everything through a particular lens.

You just need to listen to what he says himself, and observe what he does and how and why he does it. That’s more than enough. Others may well be hidden from view but not Trump. It’s all out there and he wants you to see it. There is only one realty with Trump and it isn’t pretty.

The fact that you are so desperate to defend Biden's many shortcomings from any and all criticism simply because he isn't Donald Trump. It doesn't matter that it's Biden; the same would apply to everyone from Charles Manson to Homer Simpson. It's not Trump so everything is biased, misquoted, taken out of context, meant as a joke, not his fault, etc.

You have the chance to explain your actions and words when people criticise you after reading what you write. If you actually sat down with Donald trump like you claimed to have with loads of high end people you may change your mind about the man. He doesn’t do random if you study his history.

I have many times said that should there be any actual evidence of wrongdoing then he should face exactly the same treatment as Trump. You can see all the shortcomings you wish. I see some too, not least his age. No President or candidate for President ought to be seriously considered suitable at this kind of age. There’s too much stress. It’s not a reasonable expectation. However much of what is thrown at Biden is simply Republican character assassination. He is his own man. He isn’t a bombast like Trump. Whenever he stumbles or falters someone will capture and publish it. Which other 80 year old could go through life without sometimes stumbling or faltering? Not this one I can assure you, but my brain still functions perfectly well. So I feel some connection to Biden and resentment at the juvenile treatment some try to hand out to him, because I get it too.

I have watched and followed Trump for many, many years, well before he became well known here. I learned about him from ex-pat US citizens who were convinced he was destined to be President. He absolutely does random. He has such an unshakeable conviction of always being right he often makes decisions based on whatever happens to come out of his mouth, without any reflection or consultation with others. I would no more change my mind over Trump if I met him than I would if I met Al Capone or any other obvious bad un.

Roy Hodgson gets enough grief over his age and he's in charge of a football team never mind the world's largest economy.
