Someone with a big personality and the ability to prise open the board's wallet might just be what's needed, even if to just see us through to the summer. If Parish is thinking of getting rid then he needs to do it now though. A run of games with minimum expectations to give the new manager time to implement his ideas and also time to put across their ideas of what we should do in January (if they're just loans then surely the manager should have a say?) If Eze does indeed return quicker than expected and is fit then that could be enough to save Roy's neck as him and Olise together are a handful for anyone. As much as I am fed up with Roy's tactics if Eze & Olise had been fit all season we would probably be on 20+ points. That pairing could also be a draw for a new manager too though. Someone who can prise open the money box , is first requirement right now. We have to have more than Olize, and Eze, they are influential without doubt , but we can’t even keep them on the pitch, and when we don’t we are just not good enough. For much of the squad it’s been obvious they will never get better than the average they always were for some time , some have got older and gone backwards from average in fact. And the young players all struggle to enter the team poor as it often is, let alone make up for players of real quality such as the two already mentioned.

Not sure that you can say Potter is worse than we currently have. What he did at Brighton was amazing and the current incumbant is reaping the benefits

What we are getting is usual Roy. He is good at going into a mess and sorting it. He’s less good when there is any level of expectation or needing to be on the front foot. Exactly what happened with England under him.

I’m absolutely baffled. Why did we pay £26M for a player that has huge potential in Franca and leave him on the bench. It’s frustrating to watch. He’s the most expensive player we have, Roy will ruin him if he hasn’t already. Give the kid a chance ffs

I dont think he would be any better than Paddy. Potter would be my first choice but this is madness. Cooper has done an exceptional job for Forest under a completely mad owner. They are at the opposite end of the scale where instead of signing too few players, they've signed far too many and he's had to retrain half a different squad for the last two seasons. Despite the hammering last night the Forest fans apparently clapped him and sang his name which should show you what a good job he's done for them. As a former England U16 and U17 manager as well you'd assume he'd be a great choice for Rak Sakyi, Franca, Ebiowei etc.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

Just realised something, aren't we losing potentially Ayew and Schlupp early next year to the Africa Cup of Nations?
The trouble with computers, of course, is that they're very sophisticated idiots |

We've been here before and witnessed the abysmal football it produces. Then it was enough to keep us in 14th, not so this time round. The fans know this, no amount of PR spin can say otherwise. Pity SP didn’t feel the need to look at loans in the summer
