Not forgetting the clean sheet.

I always thought Ayew was a much better player when Wilf wasn’t on the pitch. He has been top drawer since Roy has come back and long may that continue. If he could just get his finishing in order he would be raved about.

I know I mentioned on here at half time but Mitchell has to pulled out of that starting 11 asap. He is shockingly bad on the ball and can’t pass further than 3 yards.

There is no fear of us getting relegated this season. We are too well organised and solid. Lets just hope out flair players can start scoring and see where it takes us.

No, i haven't sorry, but, i noticed you have a Falkland Islands flag next to your moniker, i was involved in '82(Royal Navy).

Brilliant.
That war spelled the end of an aggressive, evil fascist dictatorship that trampled all over human rights and personal freedoms.
However, this seems to get little mention when the Falklands are discussed (how defeat was ultimately liberating for the Argentinian people).
I wonder why?

Sheffield Utd fans think their team are pretty poor due to injuries and selling their best players, but much could rest on whether that inspires them to prove doubters wrong.

We should look organised and solid but if they block out Eze you wonder where our creativity comes from. I think we'll win 1-0 though. Edouard with a scuff or in off his backside. I also think Ayew may be the one to watch out for as he was great against Lyon.

Spot on.
Did you have a bet?

The one thing that has improved is our ability to keep the ball and maintain possession. For many seasons I have bemoaned the fact that our passing has been pretty poor. Today we generally looked very comfortable on the ball and didn't keep giving it to the opposition.

Good performance and should have won by a greater margin. How on earth did their keeper save that Andersen header. On to Arsenal next under the flood lights.

A very encouraging performance to be sure. A poacher's goal from Edouard, Eze as smooth as silk and Lerma looking very strong. Jordan Ayew didn't stop running, was very tricky and my man of the match. Fair play to Roy, 76 years old and ready to put his dukes up to any scut who thinks he can take liberties with him.

Lerma looked very useful on MotD. Breaking up play, little give and goes and looking to get forward. Shearer highlighted one interception where he put an attempted cross out for a corner which showed great desire for a midfield player.
He and Doucoure could be very good for us if we can defend higher up the pitch.

Good start lots of positives midfield looking good Doucoure needed support and now he has it , Edouard good finish gambled and it paid off which strikers should do with crosses , hope we get the chelsea lad Mitchell not going forward in his career shame , we will be alot busier monday week but its a funny old game COYP

Zaha gone, Olise potentially going soon as well. Palace did a decent performance without them. Lerma was good, Mitchell played decent, Ayew was very good and Edouard with a goal. Hopefully this is the season where Edouard scores at least 13+ EPL goals.

Only issue is injuries if Ayew, Schlupp or Eze gets injured can Rak Sakyi, Ahamada step in? And what happens if Edouard gets injured.

Best game in a Palace shirt doesn't mean he was any good though. He has set a very low bar in terms of effort and linking up play.

But pleased he scored and hopefully he'll get better.

As I said we could not be watching the same game or player. Best game in a Palace shirt means MOM here!

I am delighted we won our first match yesterday, and we were unlucky not to score a couple more. A good start to the season and some quality play from the little I've managed to see.

One thing noticeable about Roy, and he was often criticised about it first time around, and it's his seeming reluctance to use his substitutes. I think, in his old school way, he doesn't want to disrupt the pattern of the game, whereas most managers these days throw on fresh legs to disrupt the opposition.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.
