Bet you can't get the tune out your head now... It was memorable. It's like an embryonic stage of sword and sorcery metal. I'd go with Robinson Crusoe as my favourite.

anybody learning a new language ? All the old Westerns seem to be on Youtube .....and probably in your target language....assuming your target language is popular enough. currently working through 'il buono il brutto il cattivo' in Italian. It's Excellent progress because every scene is already fairly familiar with a dialogue you already know. a lot more fun than boring language tapes. Hearing the list of crimes of Tuco, read out at his hanging....in Italian....pure comedy gold. ''il Signore abbia pietà della sua anima'' Edited by PalazioVecchio (25 Jul 2023 3.41pm)

This one was essentially dull and not memorable. Not dull but, frankly, seriously f*****g weird was the Singing Ringing Tree. East German where the Commies oddly made a show about fairy tale royalty. I just remember the evil dwarf and the huge talking fish in a pretty small pond.

Back in the 1980s someone informed me that at their local video store a "western" was the code word for under the counter p*** videos , as in "have you got any good westerns in at the moment"? I don't know if this was specific to this store or was a more widely used euphemism ?

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |
