I am not a party biased man, have voted for both major party's in the past, But what Johnson did was unspeakable, the contempt he showed towards the electorate, especially the poor souls who couldn't go to hospital to see a dieing relative is about as low as you can get, and then to continually lie to Parliament is abhorrent, all the victims that never got to say goodbye to their, family members, should have a free hit at Johnson's sarcastic face. PS, i am not saying Starmer is any better but that is not the point.
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

The damage Johnson has inflicted on the country and by all who supported his lies, is incalculable. To think he is still squirming and his motley gang of toffs they should be dropped off a cliff. Lower taxes. All the tory reasons for being, are all unmitigated disasters. Borrowing out of sight, only the few rich benefit in tory Britain. Off he goes with his new millions having left his country with his rotten brexit deal which looks irrecoverable.

I can't take anyone seriously who still defends the buffoon - he's shown utter contempt for the populace on so many occasions, and the shamelessness of people still happy to lap that up genuinely blows my mind. I understand politics is tribal and most people pick a side, but f*ck me that has to have a limit somewhere.

Simple minded as usual.

What is more significant is the agenda to attack him and others simply because they made Brexit happen and upset the globalists. It's Trump all over again. Politics in the West is now like in Third World countries. They remove leaders by any foul means they choose.

its beyond a political point, its just decency, integrity, dignity, principles and Honour, features that many MPs lack, but Boris is completely devoid of any.

You just described all the things politicians rarely have. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that it's all about one man. That's what they want you to think.

JVs can say whatever they like, but they don't hold the truth. They only hold an opinion, because others obviously disagree. I am talking about what I perceive as unequivocal truths. You are free to dismiss this as just my opinion, but not me. I think the evidence is solid and cannot be nuanced. That's not fanaticism, which is uncritical zeal for a position, even when there is evidence and reasons to question it. When I see no actual evidence to justify anything, as with Johnson's defence of himself, then I believe it can safely be dismissed.

You are correct, you can probably count on one hand the decent ones, although i dont know who they would be, the trouble was Boris was steering the ship at the time.

If the report barred Sir Keir from the house for 90 days we would now be on p500 of this thread. Interesting evidence of political learning on this Board. Rees Mogg now attacking the report based on the perceived partiality of the Committee. However if this was so, you ask HH to recuse herself at the time. Boris was then PM and could have raised it. If she refuses, you have a point. You don't wait for the report and then raise the issue. Also, is that all they have? What about the other members of the Committee? One of them was more right, Brexit & Tory than him. I am hoping all those supporting his Trump style attack will be shown the door by their constituents next election. BTW I saw off both parents and my father in law in COVID funerals without a boozy wake as we obeyed the rules. I am very sorry to hear of your losses. Johnson's behaviour must feel really personal to you. There is now straw grasping by the hangers-on as the populist ship sinks. Rees-Mogg would never have got beyond the back benches as some kind of comic throwback without Johnson wanting him to charm the blue rinses. I hope this is the pivot point for the Tory Party and we now see it return to a sensible middle-ground position where it could potentially command a majority. Brexit was a special set of circumstances, with the consequences now laid bare. I hope they quickly dump their allegiance to it, distance themselves from the right, blame it all on UKIP, Farage, and Johnson, and be prepared to accept coalitions. This could well turn out to be a landmark day in British politics. Edited by Wisbech Eagle (15 Jun 2023 6.46pm)

This could well turn out to be a landmark day in British politics. You mean the party and the man the electorate chose in a democratic election? We shouldn't forget that you don't like democracy. You proved that over Brexit. Those damn 'populists'. What a shame they don't all share your overgrown student politics.
