As usual, you are either missing or more likely avoiding the point. Which was that your claim that the majority think as you do is no longer true. You are completely entitled to your opinion but you also need to realise it's now a minority who think that way, and that has consequences. Not least in the way it's handled politically. Give it time.

Do you cheer when an immigrant wearing a Palace shirt scores a goal at Selhurst? Are you thankful when an immigrant working for the NHS saves your life or the life a loved one? Does the mention of “gammon” rile you up so much because it brings back those rumours of a young David Cameron?

And consider how idiotic your questions are while you are at it. You can always tell when the uncomfortable truth is exposed because all the fair weather muppets come out from under their rocks to throw their insults about. Have you noticed that?

My mum was, like many elderly people, an appalling racist without realising it. I used to sneak a look at the Daily Express before she read it, so I could prepare for the latest diatribe before lunch. A Doctor came out from the local hospital, a black chap on a follow up call. Butter would not melt in her mouth, her ingratiation to the medical profession knew no bounds, oh thank you Doctor, from Nigeria how interesting what a charming man my husband was in Africa you know etc.etc.etc. The look that passed between my sister and I said it all. 'Of course. I'm not racially prejudiced '.

I suppose shouting racist is all you have left, with overwhelming evidence of our divided crumbling society all around you.
