I love a new witty joke but that wasn't one of them.

It's tradition now though - a mention of Sainsbury's Car Park is required on every long transfer thread. It's in the rules section.

I have not witnessed anyone pottering around in the Sainsbury's car park.

Stay there until June 1st Willo. You'll need an overnight coffee tho!

Very amusing article in Hammers News:-

Over-hyped free agent Jefferson Lerma is not good enough for West Ham and Crystal Palace are welcome to him.

Reading the criticism of the Hammers and Moyes for not swooping to beat the Eagles to the Colombian, anyone would think he was a modern day Claude Makelele.

In fact over-hyped free agent Lerma is not good enough for West Ham and Crystal Palace are welcome to him.

With due respect to Palace and Bournemouth, playing for West Ham – especially following in the footsteps of Rice – is a major step up.

They would likely have been relegated without Rice, so it's a fair point as Lerma is not as good as Rice. Nonetheless, imagine spending all that money and still being where they are. They look like an average PL team but spend like a top 6 club.

I think it's hilarious. Perfectly ok when spammers beat Palace to a player, but they can't tolerate the other way round

Let’s be honest anybody of the calibre of Rice is not going to stay at West Ham playing in the European Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and fighting relegation is he.

Any top player is going elsewhere. They know the type of player they can get so well they have loads all exactly the same.

And didn't we beat them home and away?

They clearly don't have a strong enough squad for Europe. I think that's the crux of it. Whenever I saw them when they weren't tired they looked like they could give anyone a good game. Every time I saw them play after a European game they were awful, looking like they'd been on a bender. I bet Downes is regretting his decision now. We're not!
