Respect the point! Eze more or less non-existent, Edouard was by far the worst player on the pitch, Olise is taking on responsibility and Sam J. is for sure our new no.1 goalie. Ayew worked his socks off as usual, but his two deliveries at the end of the game were absolutely horrible.

I used to have time for Everton, being the underdog to a big team in the same city I can relate to that. But since that pitch invasion and with their non-stop delusional whingeing fans I now can’t stand them.

That is a huge generalisation and is a bit like saying that Palace fans are a bunch of half witted thugs as they are always fighting amongst themselves

Those two instances by Ayew and the terrible pass when Olise was free were terrible. As good as he played yesterday those instances could have won us the match. Certainly not my MOM because of those. Schlupp was also poor and we didn’t have a strong enough midfield yesterday. Perhaps changes in that area were needed earlier?

Ayew was the best player on the park today by a country mile.

My guess when Wilf comes back he will go up front instead of OE and Ayew will stay on wing.

I agree about Ayew today, thought he was exceptional, except the pass to Olise and that “shot”

A big congratulations to Sean Dyche. He has only been there a couple of months and he has already managed to recreate them in the form of Burnley. Hoof ball and time-wasting from the 19th minute. Would love to see them relegated.

Indeed, shame the refs fall for the time wasting ( although Mr Brooks seemed to want Everton to win).
Dyche will keep them up but the entitled Everton fans will not put up with his style for long

We saw Dyche’s boring anti-football today, failing to use any of the talented players they have - what a relief we didn’t end up with him last season.

Totally agree. The problem I have is that my son-in-law is an Evertonian!,

He was abysmal. Had no control of game whatsoever. Seemed to reward all their theatrics, didn't give us key and clear decisions then I am guessing atoned by sending off Holgate with 10 to go after a perfectly legitimate challenge. Alongside playing a Sean Dyche team absolutely ruined the competition and therefore spectacle.

Also, very noticeably for me, and for further balance, there was one point where he awarded a Free Kick and made no movement to suggest it was on his mind at all but Marc bo!!ocked him a bit and he reached for his cards producing a yellow for one of their players. You could see this was a reactionary move. Absolutely gutless.

Tarkowski was at him and the linesman from the first minute. One of the worst performances by a ref I have seen for a long time ( and their have been many)

I agree, it wasn’t just my being unhappy and feeling hard done by the referee, a pretty ubiquitous sentiment from football fans, I honestly felt as though he truly, truly ‘did not know what he was doing’ yesterday. Really does ruin the game.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I think Edouard played well chasseing down players etc .
Doucore had his worst game since he has been with us , a lack of ball control .
Mateta is surly on the pitch for comedy reasons

If Ayew had an end product (final pass, cross or shot) he'd be a $60m player. We paid about $2-3m for him. Arguably the best value for money we've had in the last 10 years.

Very true. A lot of folk seem to forget what a bargain buy he was.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Finally, the biggest mention must go to referee John Brooks, who I thought was absolutely awful! Judging by his appalling decisions he has clearly never played the game and has absolutely zero understanding of it. So many bizarre decisions regarding tackles, contact and drop balls, he totally ruined the enjoyment of watching the game. All in all a very frustrating afternoon!

A certain gentleman has been conspicuous by his absence from this thread. Perhaps there were too many bad refereeing decisions even for him to attempt to defend.
