Brendan Johnson would be a good one also .

We are also in the hunt for a good young striker who wouldn't cost too much. Maybe Abada could be on a shortlist?

Abada's goal return must be viewed in the context of playing for Scotland's top club and a team who dominate matches.Eduoard scored quite a few goals for Celtic !
I have not heard of any interest in Abada.

Thank you Willo. It's probably his agent drawing him to PL attention! On the other hand, goal scoring wingers are potentially extremely valuable. Watch this space etc

Brighton have just agreed a deal to sign Joao Pedro from Watford ! he is just the type of player we are looking for . He can play left wing , attacking midfielder and striker . Wonder why didn't we go for him .

Pedro started his career as a defensive midfielder but he can play in every position up front and in midfield.
He is certainly fleet of foot and has been known to drop deeper into the No 10 position.

At Fluminense he worked hard with Richarlison at using both feet.

Seems a real scoop. Why can't Palace. Come up with this kind of deal?

Wondering that myself . Its like someone not doing their job . Dont know how much he cost though but would be a great replacement for Wilf .

Maybe too expensive. Says Brighton are paying a record fee for him

None of their current squad cost much and apparently their record transfer fee paid was £20.7m for Mwepu

I think it's a bit harsh to suggest that someone's failing in their job.

This may be difficult to swallow but I suspect that they might be seen as a more attractive option than us - at least at the moment. They are establishing a really good reputation for developing players, giving them air time when the time's right and then letting them move on to bigger and better things. I reckon too that Di Zerbi is a big part of the attraction - very uncertain at the moment for a new player just who would be coaching them here if they did join us whereas so many of his current players speak so highly of him that has to be an attraction.

We need to think hard about how and why they've developed this reputation and work out our own strategy for identifying, signing and developing young talent. The academy will only ever be part of that story.

You can't change the way things are but you can change the way you are with the way things are.

One would assume also that the deal wasn't done over just a couple of days & in terms of being an attractive proposition I don't think Palace would have looked all that attractive maybe a month or 6 weeks ago.
