He is ridiculed not for his effort but his inability to control his nerve in front of goal and score goals, which, as a forward is primarily what he is there for.

After watching him for years I still have no idea what his best position is and how he should be played. He would be ok perhaps playing next to a prolific scorer, but we haven’t got one of them either.

As I write they score last kick of the match.

We thought before the match we'd settle for a score draw and that's what we got. But since it was so close to a win, it's two points lost

I partially blame Anderson for sitting on the ground and refusing to move. They probably added another minute on just for that which is the minute they needed. Bad end to a hard fought match.

Forest get a draw against City, Everton win, Southampton win, Bournemouth win.

Anyone who wasn’t worried prior to this game should be.

A sickener. Still, because we rarely capitalise on a lead we always end defending a single goal advantage - concede and that's the two points a gone.

A pity this team have conceded late again, I thought they had got over that particular problem. Never mind, another useful point and good to see the newcomers get some game time and Eze, who I have been critical of, turn up in the box to score.

Thoroughly predictable ending under Vierias reign.. Incapable of seeing out one goal leads.. Ayew, who for some bizarre reason was being lauded as an unsung hero about 30 minutes ago (Is it 5 goals in 100 games?) has to shoulder some responsibility for the ridiculous pass just leading up to the goal.

I find it very concerning how awful we are at retaining possession and keeping hold of the ball...
Our 10th Premiership season and we are parking the bus and scrapping for our lives against teams like Brentford.. We really are going backwards.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

He probably was however still our best performer today until that woeful last moment. So infuriating to throw away the 3pts like that. Ayew just had to wait until there was a simple pass, or draw a foul or at the very least punt it into the corner. Sadly he gave it straight to the CB who started their final attack.

Absolutely sick with that end. Today wasn't great however there wasn't much difference between a Palace side in miserable form and a 'high flying' Brentford. Not taking the 3pts just kills any confidence and I'd imagine Veiera will be pretty livid.

Another ruined Saturday night, it's the hope that kills you. Ffs

Devastating, as everyone knows i am not a PV fan, but i thought it was a much better performance, 4-4-2, more direct, more aggressive, but all the subs where not needed, Olise should have stayed on, and all the subs, extend the time, but, a kick in the B******s that was undeserved.

A decent performance but ,
- We neglected opportunities to go 2 up and always look vulnerable when only one in front as proved to be the case again
- We paid for not having natural cover for Mitchell. Richards has impressed at centre half but he’s no left back and Brentford had acres of space down the right to hit crosses, one of which led to the equaliser. Incidentally there were two players unmarked at the far post for the equaliser.

Don't know if any of you were following the game via BBC Sport online? I was as I couldn't get a stream up & running here in Thailand. At the end of the game the BBC reporter, one Marissa Thomas, posted a report stating "Crystal Palace secured their first win of 2023..." & followed it with quite a detailed few lines such as "chances were few & far between" etc. BUT the game hadn't finished!!!!! This woman should be shot, fired or hung drawn & quartered for that. NO WAY do you do anything like that. Absolutely ******** disgraceful. Then I find out Brentford HAVE equalised in the 96th minute & the goal wasn't chalked off. I've just destroyed my flat & my relationship with my girlfriend in the process. Disgusting. They need to put out an apology but of course they won't.
