Yep, I wonder how long McCarthy has. We'll always remember players like Paddy, Delaney, Cannon, Derry, Hill, Lee, Jedi - as they always gave their all. Our current lot - and football in general - could learn something from that.

I think it would be good to hear from our fans that travelled all the way up to Merseyside to watch that dismal performance. Would you have come away from that performance hoping that PV took a softly, softly approach with the players or that someone, like Derry, had torn into them and reminded them exactly what playing (and being payed) by our great club entails and what should be expected of them!!!

Again, we are only speculating, we weren't there whenever happened actually happened. That said, we all have our ideas, through practical application and experience, of how discipline in the workplace in applied and enforced.

The Mail has now picked up on this story. Parish doesn't do bad news as he seems to prefer to have a quiet word with his mates at The Athletic who act as his mouthpiece in such circumstances

I was responding to the usual cheap shot at PV by Lanzo-Ad. Ok, '' mutual consent '' following a poor run of results - we all know what that means, agree to go or be sacked. For the record, I like Derry and his playing for the badge tirade was called for after that Everton performance. However, if that approach is not in keeping with how PV wants things done, then as in most businesses, the boss will prevail.

I do not get a running commentary about events at the club, nor am I on 'Speed Dial', accordingly I am not 'Au Fait' as to the circumstances behind the departure of Derry. As such I am not holding up the banner of 'Wrongful Dismissal' as I am not privy to all the facts. My central point is that the club has not recognised his departure on the website. Not even a footnote. Edited by Willo (04 Feb 2023 11.50am)
