Well  PV fielded the best side available. Didn't try any youngsters - do we ever?

Out of cup, to supposedly the worst team in the PL, in our 3rd straight home defeat.

Right now we are clearly the worst team in the PL. Losing tamely to Forest and Saints emphasises this.

No sign that the midfield is to get any bolstering.

I'm used to feeling worried but this is as bad as I can remember for a long time.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Feels like we were all sold a false dawn.

- No new stadium but least of concerns.
- A halt to investment in team so it looks depleted and plays as such.
- No fight, leadership or substance in team, going down, melting and giving in without so much as a whimper.
- Manager starting to look way out of his depth.

A shocking reversal since last year. Very reactionary right now but we look a shambles in every department and I cannot see where the change is coming from. Embarrassing and spirit sapping on the pitch and off.

I'm not promoting it but I think we will see PV out soon. How long that will be and how bad things have to become beforehand I don't know. I feel as though a gut-wrenching loss to BHA will be the last straw. We'll be lucky to get one loan this month who undoubtedly won't be a first team starter and the board will revert to type after the weak attempt to change things.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Awful again
No passion
Passing unbelievably bad
Olise needs spell on bench as too complacent lately and do lightweight
Perhaps need some new coaching staff (not changing Vieira)
Likewise cant see where any wins coming from
Ayew missing again
Zaha understandably frustrated
Something needs to change fast as this team doesnt seem bothered
Feel sorry for fans lately - all support but lazy performances
Next!!!

I have been a big fan of Patrick Viera. To have turned around our old squad into the team that we saw last season was great.

But something has gone really wrong. We've missed Connor Gallagher in midfield badly. There is the a lack of dynamism from players. Coupled with some strange selections up front since just before the WC and after and we look like relegation form.

I do wonder if there may be a change. Jan transfer window might be an opportunity for a new manager like Dyche to come in, toughen things up and try and turn the tide.

We lost because of two goalkeeping errors, but the concerning thing is we just do not look like scoring enough at the moment. Saints were terrible, I mean awful. The only thing they did well was tactical fouls. If they continue to play like that they won't continue to be gifted wins and they're down, so that is at least one positive. From a Palace perspective we need a shake up. Hughes has to start the next game as he was one of the few bright spots. Olise also stood out. Mitchell coming back should make a difference as both Ward and Clyne have struggled filling in. We really need a first-team signing to give us a lift though.

If no-one else is going to step up then we also really need Wilf to find his shooting boots again, as today he constantly beat his man but his end product was not there, had it been we probably would have won this one comfortably. There is no question about his commitment though.

I am now seriously worried, not to say hugely embarrassed.

Our next five games do not bode well:
Chelsea, Newcastle, Man Utd, Brighton and Brentford

I guess that after the Brentford game we will still be on 22 pts and sinking fast - unless there is a major restructuring of the team and, sad to say, the departure of the manager.

In that respect I am not sure who we could get. If Potter gets the push then he perhaps but it seems PV is running true to his previous form with previous clubs - a bright start and then descent
into failure.

'Experts' say we have a lot of talent which is maybe so but we don't have a motivating manager.

As soon as i saw we had reverted to 4-3-3, Ayew, Doucoure and Hughes, i switched if off, for god sake how long is it going to take that PV and Roberts are not the Dynamic duo, more like Laurel and Hardy, they are both completely clueless, probably the worst manager we have had, given that he has spent over 100m, get him out, and get realistic, someone who is actually a manager

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

Sorry to say the leadership of the club sits with the manager. He picks the players and sets out the tactics.

Yes PV has a very poor hand toplay right now but that was pretty much our strongest team and against a club who are struggling in the league.

We were shocking no passion, a total lack of leadership and a seeming inability to pass the ball.

Buck stops with PV. Question is, now we in a transfer window do the board back him, sack him or leave it until the summer and hope there are 3 worse teams in the league.

Our next run of games is going to be hard. I can't see us getting many points and that alone my see Viera out.

I’m guessing I should be grateful I missed todays match by what I read here.

We need at least 2 or 3 players in the window that are all capable of fitting straight into the starting 11 to keep us up, but I just can’t see the tight bar stewards doing that.

Another dire performance and steadily getting worse with each match. Losing at home to the worst team in the league. Remind anyone of a previous time, such as 2013/14 under Holloway? What solved it was getting in a no-nonsense opinionated manager. Tony Pulis never came across as a ‘nice guy’ by any stretch, but brought discipline, attitude and organisation and wouldn’t tolerate prima donnas and half-arsed efforts in matches, unlike being served up now. Result was 11th place by season’s end.

Looking at individual technical quality of the players at his disposal most would say they were not as good as now (remember he had no Wilf), but there were some real battlers in there like Delaney and Jedinak, who drove the others on verbally and by example. More than anything that type of character seems in short supply now, but maybe they could surprise us if a less indulgent and more sterner, regimented managerial approach was adopted, with places earned through performance not given weekly despite dreadful performances.

Can Vieira do this and will he be able to change? For a man that as a player was known as one of the toughest characters around, his acceptance of these poor efforts does seem strange and maybe it will need a change to somebody like Dyche to pull the team out of spiralling freefall to destruction
