A month without a game at this stage of the season. Utterly ludicrous situation. Still, let’s give Chelsea and Brighton time to sort their new managers/tactics out. I see McArthur, Ferguson and Tomkins are still not anticipated to be fit despite the extra month. The run of games coming up after the break will stretch our squad to the limit. A couple of training injuries now (which we seem to pick up a lot) and we will be in real trouble. It really doesn’t bode well at the moment.

I am assuming at some point there will be a coronation. Hopefully it will be during the WC, otherwise expect more cancellations.

Maybe you should petition TESCO to allow staff that want to observe the funeral a day off, and to allow those who would prefer (or need) to work to do so? Personally, I would be perfectly happy for TESCO to be open on the day and to shop there. The key is respecting and accommodating each other's different views, not forcing something to close because you deem it correct (for which see: Football, postponements). They are paying staff, who were due to work on Monday, those who weren’t due to work on Monday get nothing.

A counter argument for you Rudi: It is exactly this type of hollow gesture that woke, virtue signaling, positively discriminating, anti-competence organisations cloak themselves in to avoid detection. I would argue that virtue signalling is literally the Sun, daily mail and all main stream newspapers role now. Its a term that seems to be aimed at people at the left all the time but really seems to apply to modern media more than anyone else. Not really contributing much to the overall conversation but its something that amuses me!

And that’s correct isn’t it? I've been trying to explain to the missus about her situation. Most of the women where she works, work 4 days a week between Monday to Friday. Her day 'off' is a Monday. This means that the others get the benefit of having paid bank holidays, and this coming Monday off. She still works 4 days next week where others will work 3 for the same money. She's being done imo but doesn't want to rock the boat.
