Only last night in a local Public House a supporter made a beeline for me as I entered the establishment quizzing me on this matter.

What a surprise

With the quality in the PL this season, we would be relegation candidates without Wilf.

We need to keep him until he is 40 if we can.

‘I’ve been told’ , ‘my understanding is’ all s*** clic bate story, most mainstream media reporting he’s out of contact next season and MIGHT leave then.

we do have more than 1 string to our bow now , losing Wilf yes would be sad but not the end of world for this currant squad of players

He is very key. If we can’t get Gallagher give Wilf another £50k a week and sign him for another 2/3 years.

The beatings will stop when morale improves.

I am pondering as to why it is such a "Surprise" to you.
Whenever our paths cross, which is not on a regular basis, the conversation always contains discussion about CPFC.

The quality of our strike force is not good enough to score enough goals.

Wilf and Gallagher scored most of our goals last season, and without both we would seriously struggle.

you really hate this team blinkers come to mind , wilf scored 7 goals open play rest pens , we scored 44 goals last season we out scored more than half the other teams in the league , we have 2 strikers who get 3 games in a row then dropped , so what chance do they have to get a understanding , glad you can see this with a total unbias view

we do have more than one string, but he is still far and away the most potent threat we have.

The thought of Man C away without him isn't v pleasant. Hopefully when Olise is back and firing, alongside Eze and a new signing we wont feel it as much. But without him we'd have 0 points instead of 4. So like it or not, he's vitally important.

It's an interesting scenario! How would we look without Wilf? The light now illuminates certain players. Ayew cannot score enough goals and Eduoard, like Benteke is starting to look weak when taking chances - even against Oxford - he stuffed up two good chances at least - we could have lost to Oxford. Mateta takes a high percentage of the chances given him. If WZ goes we keep Mateta and need one or two proper strikers or we look like relegation fodder. Ayew and Eduaord out or benched. Interesting. Just my thoughts.

I'm confident that Wilf will be staying, so a debate will be pointless.
All I will say is that if you think that our goal scoring potential and ability to play on the break would not be seriously dented without Wilf, then you need to pay more attention.
