Maybe he felt Newcastle would be a bigger payday opportunity ? Originally posted by Superhorns3
Seems Sarr has rejected Villa - failed to agree terms/not turned up for a medical. We also wanted to bring in 2 of their players in exchange as well. Newcastle were linked to him earlier in the day!

I must have missed that, where has he gone? Molebeek. Textors team in Belgium 2nd division along with O’Brien. Supposedly a crap standard, more like league 2, which seems a shame. Personally I don’t like Wilf upfront unless it’s against one of the big teams. He’s not a natural striker, doesn’t have the movement and savvy in the penalty box and I think is more influential out wide.

I always thought our interest in Sarr was linked to whether Wilf would be staying or not.

I’m in two minds regarding Sarr, on his day and when he is focused he is a very good player and has an eye for goal as we saw a few weeks ago. I think he does give and would give Palace another opinion and dimension to our attacking play but he is not worth £25-30million £15-£20m imo.As for the Villa move was it a case he is settled in London and doesn’t want to up root .

Perhaps he is seeing sense and realistically thinking about joining one of the most exciting, young teams in the country…..trying not to be bias…but we are! Also, the thought of staying in London could also be appealing…

At the present rate I would expect us to sign Sarr and loan him to scunthorpe.
