The heat was nothing like it was supposed to be. It is cool, breezy and dull now. In fact, I have a thunderstorm warning. As I said earlier - everyday a warning. Every weather seems to manage to reach the threshold of hazardous these days. Drizzle warning, mild evening warning, dew warning.

But your backing it up with the same. I have questioned why the best case scenario; that being we arnt f***ing it up big style isn’t produced. Why have all the scientists got the same results. Because if they don’t they’re done. End. No more funding, no more air time etc. I have also said I think our effect is not helping. Why are you not wanting what I want. Why are you constantly giving me what these scientists produce. Give me some best case and I personally think people will get onboard. Constantly worst case what do you expect. Yes young people are ranting the most as they are the future but atm they all believe arnies coming to put a bubble round every city. Ffs give them some hope not just this never ending fear.

Wtf are you on about.

I have given you actual prices not scenaria

Of course

The fact our local wood went up in flames the first time in my life is a mere coincidence. Not related to the 36 degree heat.

The Great Fire of London was in September. Must have been 36 degrees then too.

A Maple approved theory.

So why do witches burn?
- 'Cause they're made of wood?
- How do we tell if she is made of wood? - Build a bridge out of her.
- But can you not also make bridges out of stone?
- Oh, yeah.
- Does wood sink in water?
- No, it floats. - Throw her into the pond!
- What also floats in water?
- Bread. - Apples.
- Very small rocks. - Cider! Great gravy.
- Cherries. Mud. - Churches.
- Lead. - A duck!
- Exactly.
- So, logically--
- If she weighs the same as a duck...
- she's made of wood.
- And therefore?
- A witch!
- A duck! A duck! - Here's a duck.
- We shaIl use my largest scales.

That all sounds like perfectly sound scientific reasoning. Those Python lads knew a thing or two.

fires don't start because of heat. They need an ignition source and also combustible fuel. Grassland burning isn't really a surprise when people are out and about with BBQ's and having a cigarette whilst walking the dog.
Global warming didn't cause the fires, it was dozy c-units being careless.

My beef FH is that it is presented as such. Almost as if they are trying to push belief that some sort of apocalyptic, Dante-esque nightmare is ensuing.

As mentioned on another thread, a bit of shrubbery caught fire outside of mine. It was very dry, dense and of course some halfwit threw their fag in there which is not a theory he was literally pointed out to me as I graduated from curtain twitching to opening the front door. He did look extremely apologetic and bemused must be said.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It was 102 degrees F where I am yesterday, and that is the hottest it's been here. I can only remember a couple of other days that were close to that.

I'm not sure why we talk around the subject of climate change.

Global warming has been going on for ten thousand years since the end of the last ice age. It is neither surprising nor unpredictable.

The question of man's contribution to the temperature is more complex.
Scientists tell us that we are significantly contributing to the warming, but they have a track record of being wrong as much as right. We are also not sure how independent their analysis is.
There is suspicion that science is influenced by political and financial pressures. This is not unreasonable.

The very people who push the global warming agenda probably fly n their private jets and live in 10 bedroom houses. They have a bigger carbon footprint than most. It is also only a couple of countries that contribute the majority of pollution.

How can anything we do here in Britain have ant significant effect on that?

I'm also aware that the very same elites who push for green taxes and zero carbon are also encouraging the demise of Northern Europeans via mass immigration.

Trust is the big issue here.

True, and this regularly happens on the continent during hot summers.
Britain is not prepared for thee kinds of temperatures, and that will have to change going forward. The problem is how much money you can throw at a problem that currently might only occur once every five years. It will be a gradual process.

Nowhere was 30 around here. Nowhere near. But there was 'heat plume' and 30 plus forecasts all week. More like hot plums.
