BBC saying we have agreed a fee so not completely over the line yet. Video looks encouraging, not afraid of a tackle, versatile, has an engine on him. Fingers crossed about his fitness. This is a general worry for the up coming season as our injury record last season seemed less than previous ones. Let's hope for the same. COYP !!

He'll go right back if fit, or right of a back 3. Too good a player, if consistently fit, to sit on a Palace bench.

Yeah we're all taking a risk here, not least him.

He can work his way on to the field and launder his CV at a middle ranking premier league club. In a couple of years, if he fulfills his potential, he will be bought by a bigger club and we will recoup the cost - and some if his work directly improves results. He may even like it here and stay.

If he is another Wickham, he will quietly sit out his term and be released with a relatively modest outlay (by today's standards for a player of his quality).

Last year's POTS was the physio room. So different to have so many players available, even in the middle of winter.

This guy probably fits that profile.

If he's had hamstring issues maybe sitting on the bench for extended periods is not a good idea!

On a serious note it is a bit of a gamble as he's barely featured for Bayern (at least Omar Richards, who has gone to Forest did play some 1st team football for them last season) although it appears his loan at a mid table team went quite well.

He can play across the whole of the back four which is a big plus as we are clearly short in a few positions. He is young yet has international experience so that's a good combination. If he and Fergie remain fit we seem a lot stronger in defence as we clearly can't rely on Tomkins to be the 3rd choice centre back with his injury record.

I'm guessing we may not pursue Levi Colwill now.

Thanks for the lesson. It was actually a commentary - a satire if you will - on us potentially buying another player with an "injury record" if other posts are to be believed.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Vieira seems to have jumped the gun in saying how delighted he is that Richards has chosen to sign a contract with Palace

Let's hope PV won't have egg on his face.

I was thinking more like next Friday week when we will see if he’s in the squad. It takes time for all the videos to be made a photos of him in his shirt etc..

Quite an interesting in depth piece that.

Most of what I've seen about this move is summed up by... great transfer IF he stays fit. Fingers crossed he does.
